MSFS 24 and Pimax Play Questions

Hello,

I need some clarification on a couple things because I have received conflicting answers from multiple sources:

Quad Views On or Off in Pimax Play?

  • MSFS 24 has Dynamic Foveated Rendering in VR settings. I have that turned on in the game, but I have Quadviews in Pimax Play turned off. Should I turn it on in Pimax Play for best headset/game performance?

Central Priority Rendering On or Off in Pimax Play?

  • Currently, I play with CPR off in Pimax Play, but it likes to turn itself on. I always need to double check before starting the game to make sure its off. Should I have this turned on in Pimax Play for best heaset/game performance? How does this work with Quadviews if the answer is yes to CPR being on and/or turning on Quadviews?

IPD shift

  • I have noticed that after I set my IPD to 61.5 and then come back to the headset another day the IPD has changed to 61.4 or 61.8 for example. Why does this happen? Is there an auto IPD setting that I am not seeing? I have seen videos where Pimax Play has auto IPD settings, but currently in the version of PImax Play I have (which I think is the newest one) I dont see that setting.

Thanks for all your help!

Yes off in PP on in 2024. Eye tracking if you have it, on in PP.

IPD just something I occasionally find too, I don’t worry about it also if you try Pimax EVO that will auto load your IPD from PP and it may be different in EVO. Hope this helps.

Central Priority Rendering as I understand it is equivalent to Fixed Foveated Rendering, so off in PP and DFR on in 2024. I have DFR on and the threshold at 50%. Quad Views I’m uncertain about but I think that would conflict with 2024 settings. I install Pimax EVO and you can set an asymmetric IPD. I have not noticed that it changes but I’m only a few days into using my Dream Air SE.

Update on the IPD setting, yes I notice it does change the setting in EVO but not in Play. I’m still playing around with Quad Views to see if that makes a difference.

One thing I do notice is that with DFR on in game settings there’s a noticeable slightly brighter box that delineates the foveated rendering boundary. It tracks my eyes and changes size if I change the percentage setting in game. I mostly notice it as what looks like a reflection off the cockpit, don’t really see it in external views. I have an SE.
