I bought the KDMAS because I have been waiting for the end product from Pimax for many months. I’m still waiting for the DMAS which I ordered a long time ago!
As a transition, I ordered the KDMAS.
The workmanship is good.
What I now notice after a few different games is that these Pimax KDMAS heads generally sound a little deeper than the Vive headphones.
Not bad, but different.
In some games I miss a little more sound, medium sound. The vive sound a little clearer there.
However, the bass is missing from vive.
I also have a vive deluxe audio strap and can compare it.
vive deluxe audio strap VS Pimax KDMAS
vive:
- good overall sound
- good midrange
- clear sound
- very little bass
KDMAS:
- a little deep sound
- good deep bass
- Midrange not so clear or too little
- Really great for music games It is not noticeable.
Still, I think the Pimax KDMAS is quite ok.
So for 59 euros ($ 49) … you can buy it, yes!
A thousand times better than the SMAS.
Important!
The headphones are not close enough to your ears!
You have to print the adapter for the KDMAS at thingiverse.
Go to the thingiverse homepage and search for Pimax KDMAS. There you will find an adapter for the KDMAS.
Download the STL file and print it with a 3D printer. That works very well. The sound gets a little better with it.
Another tip:
Download the Equalizer apo program!
Use these equalizer apo settings:
Graphic equalizer with 13 bands.
And add these settings:
GraphicEQ: 25 8.4; 40 6.5; 63 4.7; 100 3.1; 160 0.1; 250 -2.8; 400 -0.7; 630 2.3; 1000 5.5; 1600 6.8; 2500 9.2; 4000 5.2; 6300 0; 10,000 0; 16000 0
Then download the program Boom3D and activate “3D Surround” and set it to “Game”
Only then will the sound sound really good. The missing midrange is also there!
