Would love to know if anyone else is having the same issue if am.
I have a motion rig, and am trying to use my super with simhub, and am having serious issues with the software compensation. I have all settings correct and verified. No matter what I do, the motion compensation. Just flat out doesn’t work, and I suspect its due to pimax’s slam tracking. Once configured and activated, i constantly get thrown out of the cockpit when flying and driving. Once I switch to lighthouse tracking , all issues go away. I like lighthouse accuracy, but it would be nice to be able to use camera tracking when I can.
I’ve tried my quest 3 and don’t have any issues , which kind of backs up my theory.
Has anyone else ever experienced/reported this?
Which software are you using for motion compensation?
We’ve tested it with Sim Racing Studio, and it works with inside-out tracking (Crystal Super and Dream Air SLAM).
For a long time, I been using WitMotion WT901C on the motion rig along with Sim Racing Studio and it works fine. I am sure it is more accurate with Lighthouse, but IN-SIDE OUT tracking seems okay. I know Pimax Client has the motion compensation option but I never touch it.
So I’m not as familiar with SimHub’s Motion Compensation, but I hear it works very well. Interestingly, the tracking of the headset really doesn’t matter for motion compensation so it shouldn’t matter if it is lighthouse or SLAM. What you need are 2 things… first a sensor/tracker for the motion compensation to read data from. Like @reptilexcq mentioned, he is using a WitMotion for that. SimHub should be able to give you the same data in software form so if you have it configured correctly that part should be done. Next you need to have software to take that data and adjust the VR Image in the headset accordingly. Likely you are using OpenXR so you would use BuzzteeBear’s software for that GitHub - BuzzteeBear/OpenXR-MotionCompensation: OpenXR API layer for motion compensation · GitHub I have a whole video on my channel explaining this all. For the record,I’ve used both hardware and software motion compensation in all my Pimax Headsets (OG Crystal, Crystal Light, Dream Air and Super Micro-OLED) without issues so I don’t think your headset is the problem. Hope it helps https://youtu.be/NYPJjTfguws.
