Is there a safe way to clean the inside of the lens of my 8kx?

There’s some slight black smudges that appear to be pieces of lint or cloth on the inside of my 8kx near the bottom of the right side lens.

Is there a good way to get the lens frame out without damaging the headset? It’s a minor annoyance that I can mostly just ignore so if it’s too much of a hassle I’ll just live with it.

I would pull the fase gasked off. Unscrew the stretchy cloth and lift it a bit and then blow preferably with compressed air but just blowing should work too

Between the lens and the screen there is another plastic through which the lens slides to change the IPD. So even if you remove the fabric frame, you don’t get to the area where you have the dirt. Without disassembling the Pimax almost completely, you don’t get to that gap between lens and plastic unless you take the lens off its housing.

There is some flex, though. You can lift the shuttle up enough off the intermediate window that it slides on top of (on a felt skirt), that you can get a piece of micro-fiber cloth, wrapped around something thin, in under there. Question is whether you can do it, and extract the dust, instead of just pushing it further in, and maybe bringing some new dust in, with you… :7
