I have a Pimax crystal super, and a 50” LED TV about 60” from my HMD. I am not happy with the tracking. My previous HMD I used outside inn trecking with light houses. Worked much better, but there is no faceplate to get for the Super. Could this bad tracking be because th TV in front? Any advisces?
I would say to try putting a blanket, sheet, or whatever else over your tv and windows, reflective things can mess with the tracking, as to the camera it sees say the wall, then when you move an inch forward, suddenly its 3 feet further than it should, and gets lost, especially at the greater scale, try to cover any reflective surface, then slowly remove the coverings until it starts being buggy, then you can tell what specifically is causing it
Yes, the TV in front may interfere with tracking, as the moving images don’t provide clear reference points for the cameras. You may follow Doki’s suggestion first. If the tracking issues persist, please reach out to our support team, and an engineer will step in to help diagnose the root cause.
I covered the tv screen with a blankert, with no diffrent. I am not sure it is related to tracking. Sometimes the picture in HDM start to vibrate, it comes and goes before I can relate it to anything. If it dont go away fast, sometimes the picture act like in recliner mode. When i move or shake my head everything in HMD moves simulanously. then i have to restart my pc, and everything is OK. This happens so randomly I can not pinit to anything.
What’s your PC system setup?
Also please check if the “Recline mode” is enabled in Pimax Play.
My PC system is on Windows 11, with AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D, ASUS ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 OC, 64 Gb RAM and Crystal Super. All the latest driver, software and firmware. I am running Accetto Corsa with max settings and a grid with 20 cars, so this is very demanding. I think the whole system vas overloaded and sometimes had a “meltdown”. When I redused Image Quality to 0.80 in Piplay-Games it vas running fine. I am not able to replicate this problem and the game is running 86-90 FPS. Hopefully I have fixed it. But I have used more houres tinkering with setting than playing, so there should be made a user manual! Then alot of support could be avoided.
Today it happens again 50-60 FPS and a vibrating picture in HMD. Without any changes in settings. Restarted PC and it was OK! Frustrating!!
You have a top-end PC setup tho, I’d recommend you export the log files from Pimax Play and submit it via Pimax Play and our tech team will analyse it and find out why the FPS drop out of sudden without changing any settings.
IMO, it’s unlikely to be caused by GPU or CPU headroom.
OK, thanks, have done that, but the logfile is 51 M. Can not upload it!!
Could you please upload it to Google Drive and share the download link?
