Me too! I broke down an ordered my 8KX a couple of days ago. My wife is unhappy about it, but she didn’t say “no”. I’m mostly looking forward to banishing the SDE and finally being able to easily read all the small text in Elite D.

Well I just upgraded to the 8kx and was able to use PayPal so all good . Now I just have to wait 3 or 4 months .

On a more serious note it was the CES reactions that did it for me and the expected time of delivery. I don’t think I could wait longer after people get theirs in March. Compared to horrible showings in the past the reactions seemed far more favourable this time. My only concern really is what seems like a cheap audio solution which Sebastian suggested was awful. For the price we don’t get a packaged Swevivor to cup his hands over our ears.

When I sold my 5k+ with the Vive DAS I purchased an Oculus s to use while I tried to decide which Pimax headset to upgrade to . The sound on the Oculus s is horrible so I plugged in some quality earbud headphones I purchased years ago and the audio quality is fantastic so I am going to use these with the 8kx .

Same here. Earbuds provide decent bass response if you insert them correctly. I recently Kickstarter backed the Woojer strap. This will add more bass effects. Should get that soon.

Yeah the audio sux for sure considering the price. Question is will a pair of headphones reach over the mas? Or is it too wide?

In one of the MRTV videos Robin hands Seb a pair of Razor headphones which he then uses over the MAS.

Just upgraded to 8KX too!

What made it easier for me was the CES impressions were great, almost no complaints from people at all. And the distortion seems to be almost completely fixed which really is a big thing! High resolution, no SDE, and almost no distortion PLUS great comfort and integrated audio.

I chose Deluxe Audio option BTW just to make sure that the audio doesn’t bring the experience down. I hate fiddling with headphones/earbuds.

Ok so we are riding that road - I ordered the 8K-X on the first Weekend (the store opend) and just around Christmas I got a good offer for the 8K + as a solution for the issues my 5k + had and got that one also…
