HTC is back! Vive pro 2 with 2.5k * 2.5k per eye @ 120 hz

Will do tomorrow , thanks ! Had the same issue with the index somehow. 90hz looked sharper on the index than 144hz for some reason

Well I just got great news.

Just fired it up to do the same test as you in regards to the text. A. You were right , I was wrong. Can’t read the text form outside in that home environment.

B. And MORE IMPORTANTLY. My screen has FAILED. Have a green and red line down the center on each side and I can now see that “water bubble” looking thing in the middle the Voddodee mentioned in his review.
I appreciatee HTC making the decision to keep or return a bit easier for me.

Holy shiiii , I think it’s a faulty badge from Htc . What a disaster :scream::scream::scream::scream:

It is not the resolution that is the problem, but the optics

Right, if it is a comparison, both headsets have to be set equally. The G2 can not do 120hz, therefore try 90HZ on the Vive pro 2 and see ho much you can tinker with SS

Will try that tomorrow. It’s 01:07 night time here in Germany now xD

Imagine how sharp that text would be on the varjo VR 3 . I hope someone can take a quick photo

This is probably the worst thing to test clarity in, aside from Alyx, since SteamVR automatically adjusts your supersampling. Happens even in the Index with its lower res. Doing anything in 120Hz makes it noticeably blurrier. Try something else besdies Alyx and SteamVR.

Yeah it is not easy to get good ttl pictures. A real camera is a touch easier though. Takes a lot of trial an error before you can get a decent process.

Yeah especially with a phone camera xD but the result shows a good preview what you can expect from that distance :slightly_smiling_face: I am happy how it turned out , the statement has been made :smiley:

Yeah, Reddit use to be good, but you do not feel like a community there anymore, and Meant to be seen is 3D is pretty much dead now

Let’s be honest. Why are Pimax 8KX owners curious about the Vive Pro 2? It’s because while most of us love our 8KX, we are hoping for a headset with a bigger sweetspot and better optics or lenses with higher resolution.

The consensus appears to be that the Vive Pro 2 sweetspot is bad, the optics are average, and resolution is worse than G2. So basically the Vive Pro 2 is just an 8KX with a much smaller FOV and probably worse glare.

The only thing that bothers me a bit about my 8KX is that my eyes sometimes fall out of the sweetspot and there is a bit of blurring happening when turning my head.
