Hi, I just received my Pimax 8K + and scratched it already a few hours later… While setting it up some dust went on it and I blowed it away with an electric blower and it did some scratches. Nothing major and I can’t see them while playing but I don’t want it to get worst. What is the best way to clean the dust/hair that gets on the lenses? Microfiber cloth? What is the optimal direction to wipe? I will buy a lens air blower but it won’t arrive for a few days… I feel so dumb. =_=
Just use a lens wipe cloth. Don’t use liquid cleaners, kim wipes, or alcohol wipes (though you’d probably be fine if you did) don’t use an air dryer. I got a couple with some VR covers i bought a year or so ago with my vive, and some others from camera lenses I’ve bought.
https://www.amazon.com/Microfiber-Cleaning-Eyeglasses-Glasses-Screen/dp/B00NR9S3EQ something like this. I’ve never paid any attention to the ‘grain’ i wipe in, i make circular motions after shaking the cloth to get any dust or debris off, and my 5k+ is still in excellent condition.

I will try those specific ones. Also it wasn’t a air dryer it was a air blower for pc but it’s too strong.
ohhh like dust off? I’m shocked that would scratch the lenses, really sorry for you. The wipes are the way to go though, good luck

That is strange as that really shouldn’t have caused scratches.

My blower is really powerful lol. It might be a streak I will let you know when I clean it.
Don’t use this to clean your lenses or atleast not close like I did.

If you want new intact lens, contact Pimax. They might send(or sell) you the new lenses but have to change them on your own.

I have open a ticket last sunday to ask them if they want to sell me a right lens for my Pimax 5K+. No answer yet of course. Will let know their answer here if they do reply to me.

Pimax is sending out replacement lenses to who have flawed ones and want to replace them on their own. You will get a good answer.
