Glasses too close to lenses

Use contact lenses, buy vr glasses

I’m expecting to be using my Vive VRCovers and these protectors: https://www.amazon.com/Healingshield-Watch-Protector-Guard-1-65in/dp/B00SJ22D1K/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1544627015&sr=8-3&keywords=healing%2Bshield&th=1

Thanks everyone for all of the replies. You’ve given many plenty of options to consider. I think I’ll temporarily try to get some weatherstripping foam to increase the distance and potentially order thicker VR cover foam for longer term. Also, thanks to those that suggested some specific lense protectors.

Agree, I’ve got my 5k+ and the only complaint about it is the thickness of the foam. My eyelashes are always touching lenses and my eyes are so close that lenses are creating a lot of godrays or similar effect. If I loose headset strap a bit or hold it whith my hands one millimeter from my face - it looks awesome, but normal wearing creates some visual issues. I didn’t try it with glasses (although I have some), but theoretically, this will be even more problematic.

Seriously, color and distortion are not even an issue for me compared to this.

Probably need to get a 2nd pair of glasses with smaller frames. I wear something like these and have no issues wearing them with my 5k+.

When my 8K was working, forcing the user to wear 2-3 headbands at once helped.
Avoiding a thread hijack, my 8K became unresponsive to the Power On button.
It’s super dead without any lights and always undetected.
Support has been useless with the audacity to warn of closing Ticket when the issue has not been resolved.
The support website has been going offline as well…

Power adapter fail or cable came loose from the hmd end.

Ouch. Have you tried a different power adapter as one user had a faulty wall psu.

@anon74848233 can you look into why CMM is having issues getting this resolved?

+1 for thicker face foam. I noticed getting the lenses a few more mm away also helps ameliorate the issue with weak black/contrast. I am getting some TPU film tomorrow and will try to cut some covers for the lenses so at least nothing gets too badly scratched.

Is anyone else with glasses experiencing a haziness coming from the glass? The contrast is already pretty washed out, but I am experiencing this weird hazy corona-looking effect that seems to be related to the fresnel lenses. I don’t see it in any of the lens footage here, but I think the only way you can see this is if you are right up against the lens. It makes games with dark footage (seems that’s all I am interested in playing) almost unplayable.

Adding on some 3/8" window sponge tape definitely solved the problem, but it’s not a very comfortable solution. Hopefully I can find a thicker pad from VR cover. Also not a fan of the headstrap. Looking forward to the rigid strap once that’s available.

The lenses are a few millimeters away from my eyes, not even my small glasses would fit in there. For me personally that’s a non issue though, I’ve never worn glasses in VR.

Just make sure that it isn’t as uncomfortable as Samsung made the OD+.
