Recived my 5K + today installed Pitool and pluged in HMD. It started imiddently to Upgrade firmware, thr blue bar is at the right end, it says upgrading, please dont unplug the VR headset. The HMD is blinking red, green and blue. Have been like this for a half houre now. What should I do now?
The blinking RGB light means that it is in DFU mode (firmware update). It sounds like yours got stuck, which is something users have been reporting lately.
You can try these to get it unstuck.

Is there a safe source for firmware files?
AFAIK the firmware files are meant to be run with a specific version of PiTool and the firmware files can be found in one of the PiTool subfolders. I am not sure which one it is (from memory).
Good to know big thanks. Do you know which version before 109 was safe to use?
I ran out of patience and hit X and started my pc all over. Now it vendt OK. But the resolution in HMD looks like the 4K in 1080. So far wery disapointed. The SDE is with square pixels, not what I expected in 5K+
Everyone I have heard from so far said they were disappointed in resolution after coming back from the 4K. However, that doesn’t mean that there aren’t ways to make it look better.
The main method is supersampling. Just be aware of the 4096px limit in SteamVR. It is possible to increase the limit, as described below, but some applications (ie SteamVR Home) may behave improperly if the resolution exceeds 4096px.
Thank you, have to look in to this tomorrow. Any sugestions for Project cars 2?
No idea (haven’t played it) but there are plenty of other threads about/referencing it.
Bumping the SteamVR max resolution can really help games that need Parallel Projection enabled and need super-sampling to look good (like Elite Dangerous).
