Eye Tracking Calibration Tool Does Not Reliably Track Eye Movement (Solved PE w/Pitool Installer)

received the same email. a guy from 7invensum contacted me and sent me a google drive link with a firmware update file. BUT after downloading i realized the .7z file downloaded is ENCRYPTED, WTF and no word about a PW in the .docx file that comes with it.

Also i think that firmware update is only for eye-trackers who register as “Mobile VR” instead of “Droloon Pi1”…

Hope you responded to them saying that the device is named Droolon Pi1 and that the password they gave is incorrect.

Hi~~… I would like to inform you that this problem has been resolved.
This morning I ran the pimax vr experience, and the first thing that surprised me was eye tracking. It was calibrated so quickly and perfectly. :grinning:

Thanks for letting us know !

Were you able to check if DFR is effectively/usefully and reliably usable in any games?

I received my 8KX yesterday and proceeding installing my eye tracker today. As soon as I start installing the software, it keep downloading new file. It is still going at 2.56gb, is this right?

the version i installed last week was 1.0.0.10 and had ~175MB, so yes look unusual and pitool does not suggest me to down load a new version when starting with eyetracking active

3.60gb and is still downloading, anyone has suggestion?

EDIT: I have to close Pitool and reinstall version:264. Must be a bug with PE version and Droolon software. So far the software install ok, then I upgrade PiTool to PE version, but not been able to calibrate. @crony can you elaborate how did you do it? I downloaded the zip file enclosed by @mr.uu, but the file is encrypted with pw.

  1. Uninstall previous versions of pitool
  2. Install PiToolSetup_1.0.2.084.exe
  3. Download & Install aSeeVR
  4. Run calibration
    That’s it. ^^…

did not work for me that way with pitool 1.0.1.264
aSeeVR 1.0.0.10 was not detecting the hardware properly without config data from version1.0.0.8 on my system
i documented it here
https://community.openmr.ai/t/usb-3-0-eye-tracking-module-setup/30514/232

check the file that was downloaded here
C:\Users%username%\AppData\Local\PiTool
and you can also make a copy and look for the version when looking for the property’s of the file

that is only for people that have a wrong firmware in the module, if the camera is visible in the devicemanager as “Droloon Pi1” the everythin is ok and you dont need that file

I have installed PiToolSetup_1.0.2.084.exe not 1.0.1.264 And the pitool version is 1.0.2.084
I just installed and calibrated again and everything is fine.
