Early supporter but not receiving dmas speakers

Hello,

Altough an early supporter I didn’t received the dmas speakers with deliverance

of my Crystal Super. Also without a note explaining why not.

Anybody experienced the same ?

Exactly the same as you - no DMAS, no optional comfort strap, Silk Face shield etc as promised

Hi, I contacted support by chat and the tell me the will send them afterwards but could not tell me when :face_with_raised_eyebrow: . So waiting.

same here - ordered/paid 3rd of April and no DMAS and Sliky Facepad in package promised becouse of dealys

Is there a way to recognize optical engine by serial number? Not sure if they send me ultrawide. Even at this checklist there is no information what engine was sent

You can see the engine in pimax play under device settings.

mine says it’s the ultra wide

On the main site it did say the extras would be shipped separately.

Unfortunately pimax has not disclosed as far as I know info for determining what model is received without connecting to pimax play

You are right. Pimax play says it’s ultrawide. So I got what I wanted. I asked mainly because I was away without access to my PC and Pimax client. I was surprised there was no mention of the optical engine in the documents or box.

Did you observe geometric distortions in your optical engine ? Looks a bit like an early 8kx..

Edit: now I’m modifying the facepad to fit my head shape, it should help..

I got ultrawide, no dmas. I had bad distortions before, changing IPD and using thin faceplate helped, there is still some. I find it very uncomfortable and unstable which causes bluriness during head movement. Also, Reddit says that ultrawide owners have low FOV because of a bug. It’s supposed to be fixed next update. Maybe that will help.

I received my Crystal Super a week ago. I pre-ordered it in late November 2024 and changed my order from the 57PPD version to the 50PPD version, to the 50PPD Ultrawide version, in the interim.

I was a little disappointed that I didn’t receive the DMAS speakers and the comfort top strap that were touted as Early Supporter Rewards. I did receive an additional face cushion, but I don’t know if it’s an “ice-silk” version?

The day I received my headset, I raised a Support Ticket regarding the omission of the rewards, rather than engage in an Online Chat, as that’s my preferred means of communication, having previously had prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service from Pimax Support that way.

However, uncharacteristically, a week later there has been no response to my Support Ticket? :frowning:

Nevertheless, this afternoon, I received my DMAS speakers!

It’s probably the case as @Heliosurge said above that it was stated that the rewards would be shipped separately, and I’d forgotten that in the 11 months since I placed my order! Presumably my comfort top strap will also arrive soon?!

FWIW, I’ve no idea why my headset and DMAS speakers were shipped from Poland to Australia, rather than directly from China, as the former would be around twice the distance! I’m not complaining, as the Free Shipping benefit appears to have been honoured. :wink:

I also see distortion but now less thanks too leather facepad from Vive 6mm ( I have spare) and additional velcro strap around the cheeks

My ultrawide unit have also little mura and tons of chromatic aberration. Mura is not a problem and is munch less than in my 8kx. CA in some sims iritating me and in some not.

The other issue I observed is tracking… Still testing but looks like when headset is geting hot it start loosing tracking and world is moving. This happend to me 2 times during longer sessions in AC and LMU.

Conclusion - this ultrawide optical engine is not ready for prime time. We need updates !

I reviewed the patch notes yesterday — there will be updates to the tracking algorithm and improvements to reduce CPU utilization.

Regarding the CA, have you tried adjusting the wearing position? I’ve noticed it tends to worsen if the headset isn’t properly aligned.

The engineers are also working on the UW profile and aim to include it in the upcoming patch.

The DMAS and the foam will be shipped in separate packages. I’ve spoken with the team, and they’re arranging the shipment — you should receive an email from us shortly with the shipping status.

The module will be automatically detected in Pimax Play.

The headset wasn’t shipped from Poland — in fact, the headset is shipped either directly from China or from a local warehouse to your location.

The comfort topstrap is not included in the box?

You can try rolling back to Pimax Play version 1.41.2 to see if the distortion profile has improved.

No, the comfort topstrap wasn’t included in the box (either for the headset or the DMAS speakers), but these screws and screwdriver were included in the headset box, and I have no idea what they’re for.

I’ll raise another ticket at support.pimax.com if I don’t receive the comfort topstrap within a week.

As said earlier, the package is either from EU warehouse or China directly.

The label has nothing to do with the shipment tho.
