Just received the Dream Air. It seems to recognize the Valve 1.0 base stations but it says it is “not tracking”. Can the 1.0 stations be used or do I need Ver 2.0?
I hope the answer is yes, as I have a single v1.0
Also congrats on receiving the Dream Air! I hope you like it. Which facepad(s) did you get?
I expect mine in a few months.
Did you find a resolution to this?
Thanks
I don’t think that will work, I think only 2.0 lighthouses are supported. The technology is different.
Citation?
As far as I am aware, all v2.0 equipment is 100% backwards compatible with v1.0, so without further information, I suspect this is an individual issue, and not a general one.
Yeah it should work. Lighthouse 2.0 uses sync on beam technology which is not backwards compatible with older headsets but 1.0 is compatible with new headsets.
So?
Is it sorted?
Should we buy more 2.0 ?
Unless you’ve got an old HMD buy 2.0. Buy one see how it works but if you’re moving around and turning you’ll need 2 to defeat oculsion.
Yes, I have an old HTC Vive with two 1.0 bases and controllers that work perfectly.
So I guess it should work…
I’ll know for sure soon.
We’ve tested it with the 1.0 base stations, and it worked properly.
Please make sure the channels are set to A and B. We’ve found that there can be issues if a base station is set to channel C.
I received my Dream Air LH today and I’m afraid Dream Air is not compatible with the HTC Vive 1.0 base station.
Dream Air does not work for me.
Channels A and B, nothing works, Dream Air does not work.
I then tested my HTC Vive and the tracking works perfectly.
What’s going on, Pimax?
What status is shown in Pimax Play?
Does it display “Not Tracked,” or is the tracking drifting or constantly stuttering?
Indicates headset not tracked.
Channel A and B
Channel B and C
With or without the connection cable between the two bases.
The screen displays a moving coloured square, ‘screen saver’? I have already ordered a 2.0 base to rule out any problems with the headset.
More testing over the weekend.
Okay. I have a 1.0 setup in my office and it works fine.
Let me double-check with the developers to see what could cause the headset not to be tracked when using a 1.0 setup.
Also, could you please export the log files for me? I’ll forward them to the developers for further analysis.
@PimaxQuorra Just incase you are not aware, Jo89 is not the only one with this problem.
There are others in the same situation.
Mind to share the message link?
I’ll ask them to post here, as its in another discord.
But its basically the same thing. The Dream air works OK with a 2.0 base station but not with a 1.0.
Im interested in this due to only having basestations 1.0’s and have a Dream Air on order - I really hope you can find a solution for all the 1.0 people out there.
Thank you.
Either way, you can also ask them to message me directly on Discord (kehweng).
I ran another test just now with 1.0 base stations, and the headset tracked normally. So we’ll need to investigate this further, since there have been a few reports saying it doesn’t work with the Dream Air.
We’ll also need the log files for further analysis.
Just a quick update: if you’d like, please share this with other Dream Air users who are experiencing tracking issues with 1.0 base stations.
If you’re using two base stations, configure the channels to B & C.
If you’re using a single base station, configure it to A or B.
I spent some time this afternoon conducting tests with multiple channel combinations and arrived at this result.
Steps I did:
- Reinstalled Pimax Play with “Clean Installation” enabled.
- Set the base stations to channels B & C.
- Connected the headset.
