Crystal Super UW issues / analysis / comparison with 8KX

The shrinking FOV when moving my eyes to the edge is also what bugs me the most about the Crystal Super. Coming from the 8KX where I had 158 HFOV no matter what I now at least have 136 degrees when looking straight, so thats ok for me, but when I look to the edge I suddenly only have 110 degrees. So the mirror of my car that I wanted to see better be looking at it just disappears, what is quite annoying.

Another very weird thing with the Crystal Super is that my dad, who also had 158 degrees HFOV in the 8KX has only 108 degrees HFOV in the Ultrawide to begin with.

The second thing that is annoying me is the Mura, I feel like my panels have it a little bit stronger than others, but I don’t know if it’s enough to request a new module as I can live with it in exchange for the amazing image quality.

What FoV you get now? 120-ish?

During installation, did you choose Clean Installation to clear the cache files? This step is important, because skipping it can lead to distortion profile problems.

Yes right in the 126 range.

Just to confirm — you’re using the thin foam, right? And the rendered FoV is 136?

For the 8KX FOV measurements- was the unit set to Wide, Normal, or Narrow setting in PiPlay?

No, it remains the same.

Can you expound on this please??
