Can We Get Acknowledgement of the Pimax Specific RTX 4090 Latency / Lag Issue please?

an active amplifier to extend the DP cable.

Thanks, I didn’t know they existed/where needed. So you think this is a factor, maybe the issue having something to do with bandwidth with the cable or something?

get the 4090 with return option and try it. When it’s running, the 8kx shines in new splendor.

little question, wich version of 8kx ? 1 or 2?

Thanks for the advice! I think I will do… so much cash though… ouch…

As a simmer, you are moving your head - that is sufficient.
I agree with you that it might be less noticeable and annoying in racing sims, where you’re moving your head the less.

But as soon as playing Open World sims such as the Truck sims, DCS, FS, or Elite:Dangerous, you’re moving your head all time long. Or think of RPG’s, and if only via vorpX.

Concerning MSI Afterburner:
I need it running to cap the power limit at latest at 350 W. Even though in real gaming service, neither the 4080 nor the 4090 seem to get beyond 300-350 W at max, I simply don’t want a graphics card’s peak to damage my 750 W power supply or anything else. Furthermore, 99% of the reviews guarantueeing this won’t happen in normal gaming mode, didn’t benchmark playing under heavier VR load at all. And in the end it’s only me to blame because I knew of the simple possibility.

Serial starts with 2076, I am guessing that is the 2?

For simming, I would go as far as saying it’s liveable and to some degree unnoticeable. The pure performance gain you get from the 4090 in such titles is without a doubt worth it. I recently purchased MSFS2020 and it did not bother me that much to be honest. It’s still there, but it’s nowhere close to room scaled titles.

Is it only v1 having that problem? I thought it concerns all high resolution HMD’s.

nope, for pimax only older hmds

U sure about this ? If this is true, then us early adopters are as good as f*d already… :face_with_spiral_eyes:

When I tried it with a 4080 in the truck sim’s, it was directly noticeable to me and annoying, in the main menu already, in-game while driving even more - it was as if I’d drunk a glass too much

But I admit, after two three hours of trials, I somewhat got used to it a bit. But it still wasn’t comfortable and 100% enjoyable. Considering the GPU’s expensive prices… hmmm… not really satisfying

S*it

For the 6800/6900 XT and 7900 XT/XTX it seems to be exactly the other way round:
If ever they work, it is said with v1 only … :grimacing:

Can’t NVIDIA and AMD try to agree upon this ? :joy:

I just orderd the RTX 4090 (Suprim X liquid). Will let you know how it works out and if I notice the issue (much). Will return the thing if it is a big issue and there is no hope of the issue being solved by either Pimax or Nvidia at all

Didn’t @JonnyM buy this repeater in an attempt to solve it ? For him I recall it was no bueno? That thing is rather expensive as well.

Is this the one you have ?

I will try it though and just return it if it makes no difference.

Yes he is. But it doesn’t seem to have anything to do with that. As written, I have no problems even without a repeater in the games himself. However, my computer is also in the bios and co. fine-tuned. The only thing I haven’t cleaned up since 2017 is my windows :joy:

PS: Ohhh, Norway. Was there in October, but much too short Incredibly country and very nice people.

If you are a simmer I wouldn’t worry about it, for me the stutters are less frequent at 75hz too which is fine for sims. I mostly play shooters at 90hz so it’s much harder to ignore for me.

Yeah made no difference to the 4090, helps with stability when I switch back to the 3080 though so I got some use out of it.

Most of my VR usage is not sims. Much is fast action games. With MSI Afterburner uninstalled, I am not experiencing latency issues in these games. I also don’t experience it in VRChat. And also not in sims.

I only get latency when I’m in the SteamVR void with no game running.
