As many backers will be coming from the Vive or Rift to the 5K+/8K, are there any special instructions needed in order to transition over to the Pimax headsets e.g.:
Does Oculus Home need uninstalling before installing PiTool or can the Pimax headset be installed with the Oculus software resident on the machine?
Same as above, but for the Vive?
Also should a Rift and 8K coexist in the same room (on separate machines) and the same question for two Pimax headsets?
(The reason for the last question is, I will be setting up a second machine to run the spare Rift to start with and then upgrading that to 5K+ once it goes retail. I will then have a co-pilot in Elite Dangerous using the multi-crew feature ).
Yes you can have multiple of either headset type in the same room.
You can also leave the software for either installed, you need to install the oculus software anyway to run oculus games (which pitool has an emulation mode for but you still need the oculus drivers installed too)
How about Revive? I have the Vive set up and Revive for playing Oculus games but I understand that the Pimax will play Oculus games natively: do I need to uninstall Revive?
Will people have issues with that add-on for setting custom chaperone bounderies and the like? (I can’t remember what it’s called, dang it!)
How will the Peetool play with Viveport? Should the one or two people who have installed Viveport uninstall it or modify it in any way?
