I was thinking about amd before, but I’m using Fixed Foveated Rendering in assetto corsa competizione. It’s a big fps booster. But only nvidia support FFR ![]()
Also 6800xt is terrible in VR

I know…
I’m still counting on buying a 3080 Ti as soon as they’re out due to supported features…
I’m using DFR and wouldn’t want to miss out on that either.
I don’t think they’ll be terrible in VR at those clock speeds (2700 MHz)…
I think there is a big chance that amd will finally see a potential in VR.
I really want them to succeed. No more nvidia monopoly and gpu for 1500$.
Now iRacing works only with nvidia (SPS option)
ACC works only with nvidia (FFR option)
They just need one good technology only for VR. Something like DLSS 2.1 or FFR. And of course they have to push developers to support this technology
But next year is looking good for us - vr gamers.
Agreed…
If nothing else, at least they’re genuinely pushing Nvidia now which was needed…
I do see your point but here is mine :
Lifespan of a gpu has never been a concern to me because i switch cards every 2 years ,maximum 3 : as the vast majority of gamers with high end pc does.
100w or even 200 w doesn t really impact your budget , however if it really does you probably couldn t afford a 1600$ card.
As for the overclocking part , yes it does seem that 3090 is bad in that regard but i do get between 4-5% increase not 2. You compared your result to his and that s not a good way to compare imo, too many things can vary even from an identical rig to another.
Vrmark blue room stock 6525 vs 6812 when OCed, i just don t want to pass on extra FPS.
Regards
PS : my not so final OC +200 core +1000 même
I compared my undervolt result vs oc result. Not stock.
You’re right, gap between stock vs oc is bigger.
Good undervolting will give you better performance with lower power draw. That’s why for me gap is only 2%
I just like to find balance when I oc my gpu, cpu and ram.
After all it’s good that we have a choice to OC or undervolt. It’s all about better performance and there is room for those who likes extreme OC and those who wants efficiency
Btw what test are you doing for gpu memory? I see many people going +1000 on meme but I read that 3000 series got some protection. It will lower performance and won’t show artifacts.
That s what i thought too and it s the reason why i ran it at first only at +200 . Actually it s your post that made me boost my gpu mem over 1000. I just run benches (vrmark+ port royale ) adding 100 MHz until i see no more gain or even loss of fps. Boosting mem doesnt make nor artifacts or crash. If temps are too high it begins to throttle. The tricky part is as you raise the core too, it warms mem too. i m still trying to figure out the best balance. Gpu core max speed is way easier to find :artefact or crashes . But to be honest i m a little disapointed by the overall step from my 2080 ti watercooled. Maximum gain is around +29%. May be my CPU is thé limiting Factor idk. (8700k OC 5.2ghz)
How good are you at programming? because you still have time to program a good BOT.
I guess if I wanted I could learn to program it in time…
I’m not a programmer but I do some shell scripting and I can read/understand most of the code I read…
