How many TTL photos do you need @Heliosurge
Maybe not the best example, but it speaks for itself
Agreed. The 8k+ main benefit will be even further improved reduced sde and improved color potential. So yes it should be slightly more sharp.
But as we know upscaled image cannot created details not there in the source image.
Really 5k+ Is so sucks like in that image?
You have proved my point. You need to balance the color to do proper compares. Otherwise you will choose the one which color speaks more to you.
You cam have 2 identical res pictures printed on photo paper with different color warmth and folks will choose one over the other. TTL photos do not impress me as much as others.
We all agree the 8k+ will have improvement over the 8k being as it is what ppl expected.
Well at the time I didnât think of it as âsucksâ, but yes, that image is a rather good impression of the effect if you can use a little imagination as to how that works out when looking at the image slightly less magnified and across the entire FOV.
Macro or camera shots shouldnât be taken serious unless done with lab equipment much like what Eurogamer uses.
Could you make a some comparation between Artisan and 8k+?
Are you serious? ![]()
You do realise macro TTL has nothing to do with contrast and colors?
Absolutely as you said it yourself. Professional equipment is best for getting reliable pictures. Donât backtrack now. ![]()

You do realize that color and contrast differences affect perception when there not the same. Basic Art & Photography 101.
Yes. And none of my 2000 USD cameras are professional, right? ![]()
Indeed, but if there is a huge difference in the first place, contrast and colors will not change the fact or perception. It can only change your perception when the source image is more or less identical.
Damn, i hate my descision to have made the switch to the 5k+ now
A $2000 camera is a pro camera. But it is not pro lab equipment and will not compare with it.
Yes Color does affect perception.
Purple Ketchup in a blind taste test tastes identicle to Red Ketchup. The purple simply uses tasteless food coloring.
When most see the Ketchup they will perceive it tastes different.
As for your camera I know people that a single lens costs around that.
Those shots make me lean towards the 8k+ they do highlight the basic differences between pixel layout etc. But I kind of feel like if Iâm going to spring for an 8k+ I might as well save up for an 8kX and be more future proof. Everyone will have their preference. Any chance you have a side by side comparison of the 8k+ to the now discontinued 8K using the updated pitool software?
This also makes me even more interested how the 4k will look with the same methodology.
As of right now Iâm torn between spending $600 on a reverb or OG 8k or spending double on an 8kx. I suupose a comparison with the artisan could also sway my choice if I decide to go with one of the cheaper headsets.
I suggest you to buy some pro lab equipment then. Whatever that might be.
Oh and yeah. Its all about contrast!
Sweviver, why do you reply so agitated to @Heliosurge?
No need to be on edge.
Cheers,
