I tested the patch with the dev team over the weekend and we discovered a major issue in the firmware. The problem isn’t the update process, but that performance degrades after the update.
The developers are correcting the code and reviewing the structure to improve performance.

I am sure that most of us are okay with degraded performance during the first iteration of closed beta testing. Just tell ‘em to pack what they have and let us play with it.
I’d love to package it up and release it, but the software lead hasn’t signed off on it.
As someone who missed out on the original beta, i would love the opportunity to be able to still even get a chance to partake in the beta program. Even if it has its bugs it helps get more data for the issues it may present as i use my vr quite often.

I filled it out a few days ago. I guess I just have to wait and see if they ever get back to me.

Right now, I’m waiting for the lead software engineer to give the green light so I can provide the patch link and release notes.

I received the patch a few days ago but haven’t had time to test the Wi-Fi AirLink feature yet. I’m planning to run the tests later today.
Why not letting us do the testing? You could have handed it out a few days ago and I bet many of us would have been very happy giving feedback faster and in more detail than you could do yourself.
Before providing the patch to you for testing, we make sure the feature is working properly without any major bugs.
Releasing a patch with critical issues wouldn’t make sense for us, as it wouldn’t be useful for anyone.
Please, test it today and drop to us today too for a extensive weekend test.
I fully agree with you .. but waiting since Monday for you to have time isn’t useful even more .. if you had released it, some of us could have told you within hours that things are wrong and we would have not lost yet another week. You have so much work on your plate … just use us little monkeys to take some off of your hands, because let’s face it .. there are 3 outcomes
It works .. everybody is happy
It has bugs .. that’s what we’re here for anyways .. reporting
It does not work .. you’ll know it immediately and we don’t have to wait another 1-2 weeks for it
Nobody here should expect working things. We’re here to tets and help, 兄弟
