With the frame from VR Lens Lab for HTC Vive, lenses made by glasses maker couldn’t fit in frame, too thick for the frame, it’s why I’m afraid the same issue would happen with this frame, and it’s why glasses wearers must have the prescription VR frame as an option but not a solution.
Hmmm.
I understood it that with the prescription frames stretch goal we also get the lenses.
@PimaxVR: Do we get only the frame or will there be lenses in it?
They said only the frames a couple of times.
Glasses wearers definitively need to know how much space would be available to accommodate glasses.
Can we get an comparison between Vive/Rift/PSVR, etc?
The customized VR prescription frame is nice and all but it also will go unused for strong prescriptions which can not fit.
@frp Really ? It’s not what we can read in the Kickstarter FAQ.
“Can I wear my glasses ?”
“Yes, and we also recommend our customized perscription VR frame.”

@CMM I totally agree with you
I hear you my uncle would likely be the same. If your old enough for the reference Coke bottle comes to mind.
& like you said getting lenses made can be quite expensive depending on region of the world you live.
Remember they are Prototyping phase. The v3 is not the ks final release. The thicker padding idea for example.
The headset could come with 2 thicknesses of padding to accommodate glass wearers & non glass wearers.
Don’t worry, most of us wear the glasses, so there will be enough space for glasses since we’re the first testers . Moreover, if you want more space than others, you can just change to a thinner padding.
Alright then. This is as much of the confirmation I could have been hoping for
@PIxMaxVR thanks a lot for this answer. it’s very reassuring.
Because news about V3 were a bit worrying.
@MattMurdock confirmed internally we will provide two kinds of foam, using the thick foam the user will have enough space with your glasses.
@bacon Thank you, it’s very good news. I’m happy I can keep my pledge on Kickstarter. Yes !
Thank you, I had not seen this topic. With the same FOV?
