This looks interesting Open Source
Well my VR news I’m playing a lot of Pavlov with a great group of mainly USA based psvr2 players. Pavlov seems to have gone down really well with this player base although sadly I see few PCVR players during my death matches
Having a total blast with the lighthouse +Dmas Crystal Light here ![]()

Steam Frame Launch Looks Imminent Following FCC Certification
I just think this headset is DOA.
If you want cheap you go Quest. If you want performance you go Dream Air or Beyond2. Steam Frame is neither.
Maybe the hardcore will buy it. Maybe Valve don’t care.
Just wanted a high resolution index with same fov, some quality of life improvements including a more durable head strap and depth adjustable bmr speakers. Nice bonus would be haptic head strap ![]()
My latest news I just fitted the lighthouse faceplate and Comfort top strap to my Super 50ppd. It’s been super hot for weeks so VR has been short sessions early morning in the DA or Light and no time for modding…
fitting the faceplate and Comfort top strap was somewhat nerve wracking due to lots of tiny screws, some hidden under stickers, screwing into plastic lugs. The official faceplate video seemed to ommit critical information /jump steps making it more confusing.

Testing on Monday was super fun
Pimax Play has long been demanding an update so I finally obliged. This then triggered a firmware update, followed by another firmware update and it was good to go ![]()
The lighthouse faceplate was detected after switching to lighthouse tracking and let me pair my Index controllers.
Paired with the RTX 5090, I set resolution at 90% and frame rate at 72hz mode
Had an amazing session in Pavlov playing multi player death matches and team death matches
The display is very bright, sharp and very clear with a generous field of view especially horizontal. I reduced brightness to 80% which produced a more natural look at it was a bit blown out at 100%
After Pavlov I played Bootstrap Island which looked incredible even during my first night the black level control was super impressive around my bonfire whilst hungry wolves prowling about!
Probably the only note of concern was excessive fan noise not a defect but just working hard; it sounded like having air conditioning switched on but was coming from the front of the hmd. With the Dmas at full volume the noise disappeared but at lower volume it’s quite annoying. This may have been temperature related as it’s been very hot here in the UK, I don’t remember this fan noise being present during the Winter when I originally tested the Super for Skarredghost.
Overall it’s a serious visual step up from the Light (and the original Crystal I used for three years) and as long as I can resolve the fan noise issue will probably become my daily driver
The SteamVR tracking was flawless and no jitter to report with three 2.0 Base stations and various lighthouse controllers.
A full report to follow for the Skarredghost once I’ve had more time for thorough testing

It’s also remarkably slim and light. URXR One achieves its 93g weight partially because it includes mini pancake optics, which feature dual 1.03-inch micro-OLED displays: 2,448 x 2,064 resolution, ~36 pixels per degree, 90 Hz refresh rate, and a 90-degree diagonal field-of-view (FoV), measuring ~80 degrees horizontally by 56 degrees vertically.
