The Samsung Demo is interesting but I’m not sure whos going to buy a HMD just to do what you can do on a mobile phone fro free. If you go Skiing you can’t exactly wear a headset but a mobile phone is always there with you. MR headsets are like a thing you just dont need.
If gamers are still using Monitors, MR has no chance of success when it comes to mass adoption.
I think these MR headsets are just about building out the foundation and feature set for future AR glasses. At least in terms of androidXR and google’s vision.
Could be but if people dont need to wear something on their face they won’t. Take hats for example. Hats keep your head cool, keep the sun out of your eyes and can make a fashion statement but 99.99 of people don’t wear them even though they are dirt cheap.
If its a choice between a mobile phone or MR glasses mobile phones will win every time.
Well keep in mind that was intention with AVP and Tim still wants to replace the iPhone.
Yikes a design flaw in BSB2 means a slight delay.
So before the Pimax Dream Air is launched they are announcing another headset. Yes another lol.
This one is a Dream Air SE.
Video at 3pm GMT.
Can you give us a short summary?
The clip is 25 minutes long, and fast forwarding it appeared as if it was just showing renders. I can‘t be bothered to watch that kind of content, could generate the same by telling an AI to guesstimate the next Pimax product, I guess.
The Dream Air SE is a BS2 competitor and priced around the same £1000 mark.
Resolution the same as BSB2.
There’s also an inside out verdion for an extra £100.
So far they have made only prototypes so I’m not expecting this in 2025 more like Jan 2026 after they launch it at CES 2026.
They should have partly one upped it with a res of 2880×2880 to match og Crystal & Crystal Light
I’m sure they would have liked to but I don’t think there are any microOLED panels on the market to do so.
Well hopefully they are not using the same panels as bsb2… If not mistaken they have the same issue as bsb1 75hz full res or upscaled at 90jz from 1920×1920 to 2560×2560
Pretty sure they are and it has the same limitation, I think someone confirmed it somewhere but I can’t find it now. Hopefully I’m wrong but pretty confident I am not ha.
May was the month Dream Air was meant to be released. Yet we see VooDooDE trying an early prototype. It’s crazy how Pimax say they’re going to change be never change.
I’m not sure who is worse Pimax or Trump.
