Q1) I have a limited Edition 8KX full package. I do Not have Vive controllers and base stations
Pimax do You send Pimax controllers and base stations At january together with pimax 8k To 8k X backers ?

Q2) Who pays for The shipping costs To return pimax 8k To pimax? Who pays forse The shipping costs To send pimax 8k X To My address ?

Q3) How does The trackpad of the controller work? For Example what is The right option between these?
1 To move up You must swipe your finger repeatedly in that direction
2 To move up press The trackpad in The up corner

  1. The controllers and stations would not be ready at January. So, you have to wait.
  2. Pimax said that they incur shipping costs for switching 8K to 8Kx
  3. Touchpad can works like d-pad, thumbstick, numpad and wheel and can uses touches, presses, swipes and gestures. It’s much more flexible than thumbstick. But only devs can provide those options, not Pimax.

Not correct. Pimax will pay for shipping to send the 8K X in May but you will have to ship the loan 8K back to them at your cost

A: Yes, and we bear the freight for 8k.

They pay for the freight to send it to you. You will have to pay to send the 8K back to them

I have Vive controlers and lighthouses and I’m only 8K HMD backer but Pimax survey do not alowed me skip 2 questions:

  1. If you have pledged for controllers. Which style do you prefer? ( field mandatory)
    2.Our estimated shipping date for controllers and base stations start from April, whereas headset being shipping in January 2018. Would you prefer to: ( field mandatory)

I was forced to answer that questions … Weird :slight_smile:

My guess is that they only sent out two versions of the survey. One for all the 8K ones and one for the 8KX ones, so yeah that makes it mandatory even for HMD’s only backers to answer.

Does the Trackpad have a analog input option, like with a stick?
With a Stick you know it is e.g. 30% up and you can increase decrease this and have a haptic sense of wehre it is.
Is that also the same for the trackpad or ist it just digital like 100%up or 0% up?

Yes the trackpad on Vive wand (Pimax was designed around this) has very sensitive touch sensing. The games that use it for a thumbstick type take advantage of knowing exactly where you are on the X and Y axis.

Is there a sense provided for in terms of haptics to know how far you are (30%, 70%)? Something like ripples or a convex surface to the trackpad?

Ofcourse normally you would also get this feedback from e.g. the game… I guess.

The angel of the Stick would provide this feedback or the pressure of the spring wich pulls the stick to center.

I was confused too but in the end decided the trackpad would be more flexible down the track. )

The trackpad also offers tactile haptic feedback you cannot get from a thumbstick… when drawing a bow back for example you can “feel” the string tightening

i had the hand tracking option but it is not available in the attached photo but still i added it in the survery. any one else in the same situation? those who orded the hand tracking module what shall we do? are we are going to get it or shall we change it with something esle?

You can still get it, put it under the custom field with the other accessories. Its just that it is a third party module so they didn’t put it in the picture.
