I notice that many users who experience unexpected blackouts hear the recommendation to set the screen-off timeout to a very long value like 20 minutes in Pimax Play.

Many of these users probably get blackouts for completely different reasons, like not fully inserted cable.

But see how sboys3 implemented screen darkening on inactivity: the brightness is reduced gradually over several seconds. This way it is distinctive and cannot be mistaken for a hardware problem. I think it would be best if Pimax had a similar gradual effect (unless it is like that already). There would be no need to set it to 20 minutes, increasing the risk of screen burn-in. Just a suggestion.
