I noticed at the bottom of Tobii eye tracking software it says “Eye tracking not available” even when StarVR is running even though auto ipd is enabled. I wonder if that’s normal.
Also I have windows 10 pro and the latest Windows June update installed.
I tried but I don’t think there’s a difference for me yet. I will try reinstalling. Do you mean “Eye tracker settings are not applicable when VR headset is connected” or “Eye tracking not available”?
Okay, if I remember correctly, I think I restarted the compass tool and steamvr after installing the tobii update. I also made sure I had Tobii eye tracking and Tobii game hub apps open when using the headset.

I have same model. By mura, do you mean a slightly grainy layer over the picture that you can mainly notice if you look up or sideways while moving your head left and right and the layer follows your gaze?
For me it is still there after the tobii update, but there are less green pixels in it, it seems. I will do some more experiments tomorrow and also try the older eye tracking software again for comparison.
Yea I’m talking about that but mine is also visible in the center.
Since VR-TECH mentions he doesn’t see it in Robo Recall maybe it’s because of UE4? The showdown demo Mura is really good and it’s UE4 too. I’m downloading it right now to test.
I noticed that in Half Life Alyx, the graphics look better the lower refresh rate you use. Switching from 90Hz to 75Hz had a noticeable improvement. I think it’s because of how HL Alyx’s dynamic resolution works. On my Valve Index it looks better in 90Hz than in 120 or 144Hz.
So there’s a function that checks for the correct mura settings. If we can figure out how to trigger it for SteamVR games we might be able to get rid of mura. Could possibly be as simple as placing the dll inside each steam game.
The dll analyzer only returns function names. I’ll have to use some other decompiler to find out it’s contents. Btw, the same dll can be found in the StarVR compass folder.
This is what I have, I did not update anything, just the default that star vr one compass auto installed. So, it makes sense my eye tracker version is lower. But I can’t imagine a newer version would be better, since they developed and released the compass app along with the older eye tracker version. Blurrier sounds worse, not better, you might want to revert back. What I find the most annoying is godrays around white text. Meaning the white text actually has glaring star like features, that is what I mean by mura. I don’t see it in other headsets.
