Nevermind. Not that kind of force feedback. The kind of true force feedback that has no spring to it without power, because motors are used instead of springs.
All that damping (or maybe just friction) is really hard to create without something that closely resembles a motor.
Interesting. That photo is even more puzzling, since it pretty much rules out any of the electromechanical stuff I would expect to be necessary even to apply such resistance. There is something interesting going on here.
Can anyone test this today with an 8K X and see how it works and what settings you changed with this update
VR
Skyboxes now have increased resolution for high-rez VR headsets
Added an option for PC players to adjust their VR resolution scaling
Players using high resolution headsets (such as the Valve Index) should be able to enjoy higher frame rates without requiring the most powerful GPUs
Added an option for PC users to use forward rendering, potentially improving their VR performance
The game now uses less intensive forward shading when using the “Low” lighting quality setting in the graphics options, allowing VR to be used on mid-tier and even some lower-tier PCs
Fixed an issue where black bars would appear when transitioning out of a PvP match if the player died at the same time.
I’m just waiting for the right update to give the game a good review on Steam, and after this update I think I’ll finally be able to do it. Haven’t tried it yet, but it’s promising. Might have to grind to get all the unlockable stuff in the operation now, haha
Please post your findings with the new update and what settings you get to hold 75 / 90fps, etc.
I’d really like to hear anyone with 8k x and what settings they use to stick to 75fps.
To be honest I’m tired of tweaking stuff and I hope others end up doing it and post…but I’ll end up doing it anyway. Some on reddit seem to like the update.
From the notes it looks like to enable forward shading you need Lighting set to Low, which should give a good fps boost. People on reddit can’t find the “setting,” so I think it just works when setting Lighting to Low.
Awesomness! I’m going to dive in and have a try tonight. Some nice changes there.
My hinges finally arrived to go with it so now the headset is comfortable.
