Screen / cable issue - misaligned screens, a bar going through the middle

Got the headset after quite a bit of wait (around a month after other people around my preorder number got theirs). I installed the newest nvidia drivers, connected the HMD, let it do its thing, installed pitool, installed steamVR, and it turns out I have a bar of the lowest 1cm of the screen going through the middle.

Diagnose in PiTool says application integrity incomplete.

Fixed itself after powercycling the entire PC. And I mean power cycling, as in physically removing the power from it, then launching it again from scratch.

What was the diagnose? Which part of application failed?
