Pimax vs the Oculus

This is what it really boils down to:

  1. the optics just aren’t focused properly for me (and many other people), and my prescription glasses don’t make things better, they make things worse. That’s not normal, which means something is wrong. You don’t appear to have a solution for this, as it has been stated that your Engineers are currently trying to develop one: http://community.openmr.ai/t/about-the-lens-center-blur-issue/270/5

I’m guessing there’s no need to jump on Skype to be told the same thing.

My only additional request is for someone to provide us with updates.

  1. the screen is just way too dim by default. Can we please have some way of globally adjusting the brightness/contrast, and perhaps even the colour balance as well? If there is a solution for this already, please let us know. And it’s better to provide solutions in the open instead of privately over Skype so everyone can find them.

Thanks.

No replies to the adjustable focus question …

Exactly how does a person adjust the focus?

I’m on hour 5 of receiving my pimax :frowning: still not worky. Should be called the Pi-minimum :frowning: Talk about the most user unfriendly gadget i’ve ever been duped into… thank the sky people, I was able to find the right instructions on how to use this time vampire online, and not waste my 5 hours I spent vigorously trying to make this “T.V” actually work. I feel all your pain…The end is insight!..

You are right on most of the points you are making the thing is the PiMax was rushed. The pee effect you are talking about is nothing more then rebooting your HMD that fixes this issue. The one most important thing about this headset is its an open source headset. This is like the alpha into the beta it will get better, I have been working on my own fixes for issues that I am facing with making it work with games. I wished they came out with the controllers for this headset before they are going to release the 8k. But the speed one can get refresh rate far exceeds the VIVE or RIFT, if you have a good rig with knowledge on how to make it work. You can make a better fit for your nose bridge if you make your own padding, you can do your own setup of your VR stage with the PS3 move 4 eye’s and 3 wands with the move program off of the install disc. It works, when PiMax 8k comes out it will do away with the cords well this is what they are working on and controllers something like the VIVE. I don’t have a powerful rig for it, as this one will require two high end video cards 1070 or higher. My system right now is an ICORE 7 with 32 gig’s on the motherboard a GTX 1060 and overclocked it pushes to the limit. The game support will come in time if you have the headset still don’t get rid of it its better the the other two just have to tweak it.

Wrong the oculus is smaller and lighter than the pimax though it has bigger lenses.
I have myopia and it has worked immediatly with my glasses. The pimax never.

Wondering though, I 'm using gearVR with it’s adjustable knob without my longsight-glasses at all. Why don’t pimax trying that.
