Just reported it, but noticing some distortion or world scaling issues. Things close up seem overly large compared to wired. Kind of like a fisheye effect.
Could you, by any chance, make the text box to write about problems bigger? Itās hard to check what I wrote before I post it.
Unfortunately I canāt; itās the default design, and the size canāt be adjusted.
CTRL-Mouse Scroll wheel to zoom in and out if they canāt make it bigger.
i can talk about my experience⦠really nice at the moment, no big issue, good image quality, my setup is : 5800x3d,32 gb ram ddr4, rtx 4080s, lan cable 2.5 gbps and wifi 6 routerā¦
my video link is stable and i cant notice video artifacts at the moment, finally im able to play shoter game without big issue, maybe the only real problem is when you move out of the guardian⦠sometime i need to reconfigure again but a part from this my experience is ok, good job pimax
I Just started using it. First impression was I did get that disconnect and popping sound when I first tried it out. I do have a Wifi setup using mesh extenders (Asus AiMesh) and I think what caused my problem was the headset jumping mesh nodes on the network while I was streaming. I went into the router and locked the headset to the closest node to my office to prevent it from roaming and that seems to have fixed the issue with me (for a short test). I will try a longer session later this week but it you have a WiFi mesh setup, you may want to try locking the headset to a specific node to prevent it from roaming.
Pimax may also want to tune down the roaming aggressiveness in Android.
I just got my running on a 6ghz network and although I havenāt had any disconnects and the visual quality is great, I do get pretty frequent stutters. Iām about 5 feet from my router. What would be the best settings? Visual quality as auto? Would changing the bitrate to a higher bitrate help or hurt the performance?
I also donāt have any sound from the headset speakers when the cord isnāt attached. When itās attached, Pimax shows in the windows sound control panel but as soon as I disconnect it, Pimax doesnāt show as an option in the sound control panel and no sound comes through the headset speakers.
I also have no sound after connecting with wifi. Otherwise a great experience so far
When the headset is switched to PCVR mode, is the sound coming out?
I reviewed the bug report from our developers and found that the sound issue doesnāt occur consistently; it happens roughly 1 out of every 200 times the headset is booted.
Are you running Windows 10? If so, itās a known bug and will be fixed in the next patch.
I tried the Airlink. Itās quite good, almost the same quality as the DP version in medium rendering setting. The drawback is it consumes more power, and it decreases fps by about 20%, and it causes slight jitters occasionally. So I went back to the standard version of Pimax Play. To my dismay I found the QuadView option is now disabled. Is it because of the beta firmware 1.4.0_au0724? Do other Airlink testers have the same problem? How can I roll back to the standard firmware?
I*ām running windows 11 Home. When switched to PCVR mode with the cable attached, the speakers work fine. Itās never worked in Airlink mode since I started testing, so I would say it happens every time instead of 1 out of every 200 times. Any idea how to fix this? The headset is kind of useless without sound, lol.
Please ensure the runtime is switched to Pimax OpenXR.
Have you fill this bug to the #bug-report? They are currently testing a new patch that addresses the sound issue.
In the meantime, Iāll ask if thereās a workaround.
Are you running client version 1.40.4.98 or the latest 1.41.1?
Solved. Thank you so much!
Iām running 1.41.1. When will the new patch be available?
Also, I noticed that when I try to connect through the app, it takes about 4 or 5 attempts until it connects every time. Is this being addressed in the next patch as well?
The patch is currently undergoing inspection to verify whether the reported bugs have been addressed.
Yes.
Any updates on the next patch? Also, does the new Sharpening feature work with wireless?
Still at debugging phase.
Iāve to find out more regarding the sharpening support.
Wifi-airlink has been working great. I canāt run a wired connection to my PC, but its been stable using wifi for both connections. Only issue is eye tracking stopped working after firmware installed. Believe there may be an update in the main branch to address?
