I can fully understand and respect that MRTV have the issue of seeing distortion on his unit. Thats unfortunate and he seems to be more prone to see that than most others. Its all very individual.
What I DONT understand, is why you keep preaching about this over and over again, day after day, trying to change peoples own minds, expectations and their ctual impressions, despite not even have tried nor the 8KX, 8K+, 5K Super, Artisan or anything released or not yet released the last year.
For you, yes. But you gotta understand Samsung is the worlds most used smartphone. the majority of people use it worldwide. Their fail rate is maybe 5%. Yet all you see online is complaints. Its what forums mainly are made for, obviously.
This is not about you and your taste. Nor is it about me or my taste. Please read my Samsung phone related post, and maybe the third time you might get my point. Thanks
Because you still seem to enjoy attacking his position if you want honesty. I respect all people’s opinions on this issue. I myself see some distortion described like geo warping but is not enough to cause me any bother.
Wouldn’t you at least agree that having places to experience a $1300 item before purchase to make an informed decision is better than a blind purchase hoping your not one of the few who might regret the purchase?
But Helio you have to understand his point of view. Between the road shows in europe, CES and the ones we did in the USA probably 2000 people DID indeed go hands-on. We ask each and every time about all the details.
Imagine for a moment you had demoed a headset 2000+ times showing at least 50 games asking each person this question specifically and each person stating clearly what they see.
It’s really, really difficult to overcome that level of hands-on experience with customers and just average consumers.
I"m not attempting to “stir up” anything, merely that a point of view like this is worth considering.
Since the risk of seeing any kind of distortion is barely 5%, then YES I can gladly recommend this $1300 product to anyone. If that happens to be the 5%, thats unfortunate and a refund is available yes.
This. Basically, the rate of people actually seeing distortion in the 8kX at all, is low enough to be within the rate of outright manufacturing defects. It’s a non-issue in the same way the lack of wider IPD adjustment is a non-issue.
I Don’t disagree with the roadshows results. Save to have a better idea you’d want to get the input from those who had issues with the 5k/8k models to have a clearer idea on how much it has improved for those who had issues.
Like I said for me it would be a win even though I do see some geo distortion.
A fellow member recently unboxed his 5k+ which had been unusable due to distortion issues. He has said it has improved enough that he could see using it.
No, they are lower impedance, so they don’t need as much power to be loud. My understanding is that the KDMAS are quite good, better than the SMAS, but not quite as good as the DMAS.
Is it? From what I saw of the frequency response charts, the SMAS has less high frequency ripple than the KDMAS, unless maybe the low bass response is a little better.
EDIT: They are all comparable in quality on balance, so nevermind me. I’d just get the best that my headset is compatible with.
