I think this new headset is going to be 6k panels and use bigger Aspherical Crystal lenses which would retain the Crystals clarity but with a much bigger FoV if the panels are wider and not square.
I hope this becomes a thing especially if it has an FoV of around 140.
They are absolutely not the same thing, if you send a compressed stream over WiFi then it will be Snapdragonâs job to decompress it, so no matter how much bandwidth you have, it will always be the bottleneck. In contrast, the WiGig module compresses and decompresses the signal in hardware without asking anything to Snapdragon, and the bottleneck becomes the technology implemented for the module
The WiGig module is not intended for stand-alone games (who cares?), but for PC games
On the 12K demo, it indeed sounds as if that still is in a rather early stages, so I donât expect to see any release of it this year.
We should hear something from MRTV too as you can see Seb and Marco standing in front of the 12K demo tent at 1:32 in the video talking about the 12K. And perhaps the fotos posted earlier in this thread also show him and Marco.
Seeing Kevin & Josh having moved to a partner company probably means at least Kevin isnât Pimax COO any longer. Which I think is a long overdue move as he was too far away from the operations and the disconnect showed too frequently (and let me not get started on his communication skills). But back when the road show for the Crystal took place they had a Chinese COO with them, she was probably already at that time the real COO. Since I learnt that I always wondered what exactly Kevinâs area of responsibility was at Pimax. Well, he probably was in charge of the US support operations, which now is outsourced into a partner company he and Josh seem to have set up or utilize for this purpose.
Fair enough - it may be a proper MR headset after all. However, Google doesnât know it at all, and we have seen a fair number of headsets pop out of the blue and never get released or gain traction whatsoever, so itâs not going to get me excited at all until I read a hands-on of somebody like Bradley who is positive about it as a package, and not only isolated elements like displays, etcâŚ
