StarVR uses spactial (outside in) tracking as for controllers not sure might just be IMax experiences as its non consumer
An oled dual qhdvwould have the same horizontal fov as the 8k if panels are the same size as the dual 4k.

@generic our plan is to make some of the features hardware ready first with the upcoming headsets, i.e. after people received 8K, we will enable the âhidden functionsâ with new accessories and plugins when the solutions ready in 2018.

Is the Pimax 8k being sold as a complete package like the vive or oculus with touch controllers?
Or is being sold as a stand alone headset like the Pimax 4k or the oculus when it first launched with more accessories like controllers being promised to come later?

For the controller of the 8K please have satisfying triggers buttons. Nothing is worse on a controller than flimsy triggers. It totally kills any immersion.
As part of the Wishlist I really hope we see the headset in action sometime in August.

Hey the joystick opposed to track pads nice. Tho would want to have the idea of pressing joystick in (L3 R3 buttons on playstation) to activate âviveâ track pad as joystick. Razer hydra you have to press one of the buttons to have joystick act as track pads
The Pimax 8K needs really excellent controllers especially since every review is going to compare it to the Vive and Touch or Nolo controllers.
The Ouya Controller is the textbook example of what NEVER to do when making a controller.
The last thing you want is to have a good headset and lose your immersion by having a crappy controller.
This is really unrelated to hardware or software. But definitely related to the 8K.
Please send early or review units of the Pimax 8K to some VR youtubers.
I think Blunty gave a pretty good Pimax 4K Review and so did 3Kliksphilip.
A headset with 200FOV 2 UHD Displays and Positional Tracking + Controllers needs to be shown off to the world.
Right now Pimax is still a relatively low profile company but I really think the 8K if done right can shake things up.
Rightly so. @deletedpimaxrep1 it would be really good to target game devs like Warthunder/Dcs & flight sims with the idea of dev kits.
Generic never had a chance to explore ouya (can you pm me a mini review on what was bad & or good - i know sony added the center touchpad)
Please consider sell only the headset, like you did with Pimax 4K without the headphones. Not everybody is interested in all the accessories.

Please consider hardware IPD. As there are now 2 panels used itâs at least possible. It would relieve the eye strain a lot, like we do experience with the 4k model: http://community.openmr.ai/t/just-got-pimax-4k-looks-like-crossed-eyes-no-matter-what/2507/3
Hardware IPD and good ergonomics would be a HUGE improvement over the 4k. And regarding ergonomics, please keep in mind that we caucasians have different noses. When I put on the 4k for like 15 minutes and look in the mirror afterwards I see a red/white strip where the Pimax pressed on my nose.
Can you demo with Project Cars 2? I want to see how impressive the distance view is without the jaggies.
