Elite Dangerous is my number one reason for backing this project also. What card are you running at the moment? I can tell you from experience the 1080ti is is a powerhouse. I’ve been running dirt Rally and Elite Dangerous on a 4K 60hz monitor with ultra settings and 8 x SS. Haven’t seen a dropped frame yet

I currently have an MSI GTX 980Ti. It’s fine for a 4K monitor and it’s also OK on a 1080p 3D monitor (using NVidia LCD shutter glasses).
I expect it will be “tolerable” on the Pimax 8K, at VR Low Quality settings. It might even be OK at higher settings if brainwarp actually works.
My plan is to get an “GTX 1180” or whatever NVidia calls its next generation video card, which would typically be released in the spring.

depends on amd too i believe. Nvidia always too lazy to give us the new cards untill amd comes up with competition then they get scared and release the cards.
Not sure a lot of people were waiting for a 1070 GTX ti…

Lazy? You mean smart from a business stand point. Not that I or anyone else really likes it (shareholders aside) but that’s what happens when AMD can’t compete on the top end of the market.
Same goes for price, $1000~CAD for a 1080ti is insane but if you want the best you have no other choice.
