I see the hand tracking in EVO, but not when in MSFS 2024. Am I doing something wrong or does MSFS not support hand tracking so I can interact with the cockpit controls? Al Donn alanmdonn@gmail.com
This was a Microsoft issue. Solved.
Just tried it.. works.. try in OpenXR only.
The FPS overlay do not show.
Still not World Scale so Still have to use OpenXR toolkit.
Apart from that, it works.
Same than Pimax Play, I’d like to go back directly to Desktop when I press the Pimax Play button on the controller so I can avoid having to move it and just press the button in my cockpit.
Hallo,
I hope you read this and is great to see FOV cropping. But the little request the cropping starts for both eyes at 5% so left eye right side is standard cropped. Please make this possible that I can set it to 0%. I don’t know why but because it’s not 0% I get cross eyed thank you
Feature requests for EVO
1). Screenshot from VR headset panel
2). HOTAS binding ability for screenshot, and video record feature
The quality of the video recordings is not good. Doesn’t matter if I’m using 1080p or 4K or turn the bit-rate all the way to 50. There is shimmering and you can’t read cockpit instruments, etc. Am I doing something wrong?
I have just found this thread thank goodness I thought I’d gone stupid or something.
I have a new Dream Air Slam and I wanted to try SBOYS as Sweviver (Martin) is shouting about it on Pimax YouTube. So I did on Monday I installed EVO and SBOYS driver. It wont work as Steam VR cannot see the HMD.
This evening I uninstalled Pimax and reinstalled Pimax Play classic. Had a flight in MSFS2024 all perfect. Tried a native Steam title from my library, Steam VR launched and it worked perfectly.
Installed EVO and noticed that on PP classic my headset connects and says not tracked so I wave the HMD about and it usually says Pimax Dream Air but it didn’t after more waving than usual it changed to say screen off. I checked yes it was off too.
Launched SBOYS from EVO launch button, launched Steam VR and of course it doesn’t see the headset again. I also have a Jumpy Mouse and my Keyboard goes funny too. After installing EVO it took me 4 attempts to log in. Silly things like getting 4 O’s when I only typed 1. had to edit my login deatils in the end and check they were correct before I could log in. This is all down to EVO.
In my opinion EVO looks great and promises much but it has bugs that make it unusable at least in my case others MMV but I’m uninstalling EVO and going to stick with classic until the bugs are ironed out.
That’s feedback Pimax techies.
Hello Pimax Team,
The eye-tracking issue with my Dream Air SE seems to stem from the new version of PimaxEVO (PimaxEVOSetup_Release_ToC_V1.0.1.103_202607172158).
Eye-tracking stops working after installing PimaxEVO; I can no longer see the sharp squares around my eyes within the PimaxEVO interface. I have already restarted all Pimax and Tobii services in Task Manager and checked the headset’s two sensors in Device Manager—everything appears to be in order. Toggling eye-tracking on and off within PimaxEVO yields no results, nor does trying a different USB port.
Eye-tracking only reactivates if I uninstall PimaxEVO and reinstall PimaxPlay (PimaxPlaySetup_Release_ToC_V2.0.3.286_202608061623). If I then reinstall PimaxEVO, eye-tracking stops working again.
I did not have Quadview installed during yesterday’s tests; I had deliberately uninstalled it beforehand. My suspicion that Quadview was the cause appears to be incorrect.
I also tried it both with and without launching Steam and SteamVR.
A few days ago, when I repeatedly activated and installed the PimaxEVO beta version, I encountered this exact same phenomenon: eye-tracking failed, and calibration ended with an error. This issue now persists with the current version of PimaxEVO as well as the beta version, which I just tested again.
Unfortunately, I no longer have the older version of PimaxEVO I received from you via email on July 7, 2026, and it can no longer be downloaded via the original link (PimaxEVOSetup_Release_ToC_V1.0.0.70_202606182043.exe). Could you provide me with a few previous versions of PimaxEVO so I can run further tests? Unfortunately, this means I cannot use the Sboys3 driver without my eye tracking failing when using EVO-Play.
At the moment, I can only use Quadview for FFR. Previously, eye tracking worked very well in DCS and AC EVO, both with and without the Sboys3 driver. I have to say that DCS and AC EVO are very pleasant to play using Quadview in FFR mode. Although I do have to increase the sharpness area from 35x35% to 45x45%, the experience feels much smoother and more comfortable than with eye-tracking. However, this does require a bit more PC performance, and I have to move my head more. I was genuinely surprised by how comfortable it felt—it was just like using the Quest 3.
In my recent sessions with the Dream Air SE, I also set the SteamVR resolution (using Sboys3) to around 200% to achieve a 1:1 ratio. The image was incredibly sharp in both DCS and AC EVO. The Dream Air handles this even better, but in my view, it isn’t strictly necessary, as it also demands a lot of PC performance.
Regards, Thomas
Hi Thomas, let me forward this to the EVO team. Also, have you reached out to our tech support team and provided them with the log files?
