Hi everyone, I want to share a modification I made to my Dream Air.

I have a fairly average nose, but the Dream Air’s nose cutout is extremely narrow. The nose area constantly presses against my nose, which becomes painful over time and prevents me from getting close enough to the lenses. When I inspected the headset I found unused space behind the nose area, so I don’t understand why Pimax made it so narrow.

Because I love the Dream Air experience but was frustrated by this, I modified the nose section with dramatic results. Combined with the Studioform X1‑P mask, the headset now feels how I expected: noticeably more FOV, less blur, and a much better fit.

I don’t have photos of the process, but here are the important details:

- **What I removed and protected:** I did **not** remove the entire face assembly. I only removed the internal screws and the front plate so I could lift the nose area. I carefully taped the lens area to protect it from dust.

- **How I cut and finished the parts:** I used a small saw to cut the white plastic parts and wire cutters to trim the metal parts to the desired shape. I sanded the sharp edges and covered the modified area with elastic textile tape.

- **Result:** More comfortable contact area, the ability to get closer to the lenses, and a noticeably larger usable FOV when used with the Studioform X1‑P mask.

On the pictures you can see the difference between the Pimax original mask, which forms the standard nose shape, and the increased gap when using the Studioform mask.

**Note:** This is a personal modification. Attempting the same changes is at your own risk.
