I just want to inform you that if you use Pitool 255 or to my knowledge any version before the new IPD adjust for both eyes that use a different technique it will keep whatever setting you use on 255 and carry that over to the new pitool if you just install 271 over it. It’s essentially a different setting that will be saved in the HMD.
So setting +2 IPD in pitool 255 will result in a +2 virtual camera adjust in 271 and any dual IPD setting will be on top of that. You can easily see this by scrolling the HW wheel and notice the same number as you got on screen when you adjusted it in 255.
So Pimax, Just have both in there. There’s no reason not to. That said it will still be impossible to fix for some.
Pimax has not fixed anything, the IPD setting carries over if you set it in Pitool 255 and then install 271. As i mention its not saved in the same place/variable and as such is saved in the HMD.
The same is not true for vertical as that uses the same type of config as the new IPD adjust and any setting change you do will affect all versions. As an example. If you set it to 0.2 in 271 and install 255 you will see it there as 0.2 even if 255 only has 0.5 increments and changing the setting will bring it back to 0.5 increments.
I hope they will put the original in (So both options are there) also and make it a 0.1 increment so we can have fine adjustment outside of tweaking it with the HW wheel in between pot movement. Its somewhat annoying as you can suddenly nudge it and you have to move it back and then try and tune in between again.
