Can they custom design or just print?

edit: if that is the case, then they could improve the lenses

Ooups, they let also have parts made outside and then assemble them self.

They do. They assemble a lot of components themselves, but they literally designed and iterated the current lenses themselves.

They fabricated the current lenses in house, and iterated them. I think they went through 3 iterations for the initial 8k and 5k before the plus and the x?

Yeah, I think they are not great yet. For example the StarVR have no warping. The advantage of the Pimax is that their lenses have greater augmentation ridding of dual stack
