I am a New Pimax 4k User And Have some Question

Hi Everybody …I hope All are Okey.
I have some question for pimax 4k thanks for advance for reply

I use only race simulation Project Car 2, Asetto Corsa etc…

-is Pimax 4k has not depth sensor? Because I turn 360 degrees but moving back and forth not change

-Too often calibration deteriorates, I need to calibrate before entering the game. I’m calibrating with steam

-Is there a setting for lens blur? on VR

Welcome to the pimax forums!

The 4k only has 3dof. Look up down & rotate left & right.

The blur/ghosting after image trail is unfortunately normal. Using Driver4vr (Google it/YouTube) you can add leaning via things like psmove & xbox kinect.

There is also options like NoloVR & a variety of diy.

Other members if the @Community likely will have other methods & suggestions. :beers::sunglasses::+1::sparkles:

There a topic on reccomended methodvof calibrating for Drift.

It’s goid to use a compass to check for magnetic interference.

Some reccommend facing magnetic north. If I recall @Enopho reccommended using steamvr to open the display mirror & use headset position reset z key i think to recenter.

You may need to use in game recenter option to correct once in awhile.

I myseld was fortunate with my 4k & usually inly had to use in game recenter once in awhile.

It seems to vary with users. But does seem that a few folks have this.

just so you understand, as the 4k has no lighthouses, it does not know which way is forward. @Heliosurge is right, previously to compensate for the ‘no lighthouses’ issue i was using the ‘z’ key in steamvr’s display mirror to set the steam orientation but since the last 3 versions of steamvr beta i have noted that it does not seem to matter which way it is facing - the game launches the right way everytime. and only minor adjustments are needed when in game. if the game you play has a center hmd button then bind it to your keyboard or controllers and use that when facing forward.

but ideally place the hmd facing the direction you want to play BEFORE you start steamvr and a game.

if you * want to try using the display mirror to set the orientation do the following.

  • start STEAMVR
  • click the steamvr dropdown and choose DISPLAY MIRROR
  • click in the window that opens
  • face the HMD forwards and then press Z key to set the forwards orientation
  • now start your game.

Thank you for your reply…I understand it for center look I will do as you say

I have a 1 more question. Right-left problem is solved (Recenter or Steam VR “Z”)

But sometimes when gaming open, a game screen in below on the screen or When start the game screen is on up the car.

So what can I do for up down center calibrate ?

The height of the hmd is set by running steamvr room setup. Set the height of your desk in the small room setup. You should only need to set this once.

Thank you Solved calibration problems…
Maybe I have a last question

Some games open only mirror screen but some games start VR and Monitor both.

I think both play is problem for quality because much load to graphic card

Example:
Raceroom Only VR screen
Project Cars 2 both

Hello!
In Raceroom you have options in the game settings menu to see the monitor in black and see only by the HMD.
Project Car I do not know if he has that option or not.
But those are options that you must modify from each game.

Some games do open on both. But these games it is a property of the title. Mirrored displays from my understanding might not use much gpu resources.

@Community might have a better knowledge on this. Still processing :coffee:.
