With pitool 264 I think 294 in release notes said to unplug the Display Port with flashing that firmware.
Helio, you missed the post he made earlier where his issue has already been resolved.
No I saw it after my posts were made. Just figured no reason to really delete them.

How long do the flash take? been at 98% for 20min now.
New beta firware is great for me
Dirt rally 2 waaaaou
How long did it take for the fw to update?
Only 30 seconds max. Looks like you need to reset your headset like @mmorselli
Strange thing is turned off pitool and flash software warned turn on pitool so it still seem to work but nothing seem to happen at 98%
@mmorselli Would you mind sharing the P2_129 firmware Pimax gave you on this forum? This would help other people having issues.
Unplug your DP cable from the HMD
It is unpluged, onlything now seem to be restart windows
Gladly, but asking permission first…
@PimaxQuorra @Alex.liu @anon57422158, am I authorized to do that?
Bizare
Me i update with dpi pluged
And its work with the updater into pimax folder
It worked perfect to me. I love this feature. Franky I use very low brightness level - under 50%. It gives me pretty good black level.
I am looking for 50/60 Hz refresh rate.
@SweViver I guess the implementation in PE is planned, am I wrong? It would be very useful to have in profiles
Hope Pimax come out with the new firmware soon so people can flash it easily.
Thanks for that. I still really need 60Hz though.
Just started using a couple CAD applications (MakeVR and GravitySketch) - both would benefit significantly (as in much closer to 1.5x TotalSR) from the 60Hz refresh rate. As it turns out, having imported my entire 3D printer design without the model being in an optimized gaming engine can be quite intense for the GPU.
Thx for this thread and hint. I downloaded both firmware and PiTool .086 from the above mentioned links, and everything was working flawless and fine.
I set my
- backlight to 80,
- contrast to +1,
- brightness to 0,
and finally, finally, finally - I have almost bright, sunny days and dark nights where I still might need headlights on full in American Truck Simulator

It is really a pleasure now after having played around with different contrast and brightness settings in the last weeks, and none was really optimal: Either were the nights to bright, or the days even more dim… not to mention severe banding especially at night from brightness +1 upwards.
I even might try to disable ingame HDR now because some very brightly sunlit surfaces just turned out bright white without any contrast and textures already in the past - but turning them out before the backlight resulted in even duller daytimes…
In terms of colours themselves I don’t see any major difference, I’d say it is almost the same, but with contrast +1, I didn’t have any issue there. So that’s fine, too.
In any case:
Really a huge improvement
@SweViver , @arminelec :
When implementing this into PE, please consider using the same scale from 0 to 100.
Up to now, it seems as if you included it with a different from 0 to 5 or 10 or whatsoever - which might turn out quite irritating for the users if it doesn’t fit PiTool’s scale
That’s great news! ![]()
Thanks. Yes that change will be coming very soon. It is unfortunate that the new PiTool was released with such changes without proper synchronization with us. I hope in the future the Pimax team in charge of PiTool release will consider to synchronize releases containing breaking changes and incompatibilities with PE, so you (users) can enjoy the Pimax Experience more.
