The underlying tech, better, the product used for the hand tracking module is the Leap Motion module, which is available for something like 2 years already. So that should not be difficult to “develop” at all. And with FlyInside you should be able to utilize it where-ever FlyInside is supported.
But indeed it is sad that we see so little adoption of it so far. It appears as if Oculus are working on hand-tracking too - once their next gen headset is out it hopefully will come as a standard-feature and then should see more adoption. But this is the kind of light at the end of the tunnel thing, where we should be out in the bright sun already…

Remember some backers ordered multiple headsets. 230 units might not equal 230 backers.

This is interesting. Does anyone think it would be worth while to post a thread where you post your backer number when you get the survey? I’m sitting around 700 so I’m hoping to be close
Edit: maybe it will be like a pizza delivery and they generate emails when your headset is hot and ready (they have units available). I’m seriously doubting this as it’s not 100 percent practical but it’s a fun image.
I think they mentioned in a previous update they were going to ship some units as a test to make sure they wouldn’t have customs problems. Is it possible the first 100 backers are this test?

I hope so too, but I did not receive any survey (strange), I believe that we are in the next batch … maybe … 
the only accesory that would work would be the controllers, as the base stations are $75 each, how would you get the value of $100, what about postage though? maybe you can buy a 2nd controller at the same time and pay postage for that one?
I haven’t received anything and I’m #63 so who knows…

Well that keep me calm … for the moment … 
Sweviver just dropped the bomb in the livestream. Those who received a survey will be receiving their unit in the first batch. It’s around 100 units and they had originally a 50/50 between 5k and 8k. So sooon 
I suppose that survey also helps them determine roughly how many 5k+/8k to produce for the next batches
This is all great news… one would think pimax would put out an official backer update to tell us these things, though. Hopefully it will be coming later today or tomorrow

Not Sure- Martin had mentioned a little while ago that it is likely that Pimax will start shipping this first batch almost immediately. Forget exactly how he worded it…
Did they give you a deadline to finish the survey?
Nothing, but I doubt a day or so is changing much. I replied with some questions- among which are about ship times to me in the US.
And my guess is if you delay too much you get pushed to the next batch.
True, thanks. I’m in the 400’s so I’ll probably be next batch but who knows depending on who picks 5k+ or 8k. I’ll guess they’ll give everyone a week and then look. Doubt they’ll ship by survey response order.
