Full tracking numbers in public spreadsheet while good intention is probably not good idea

Hi guys . I noticed one guy in spreadsheet forum threatening with lawsuit if his personal info is revealed and mentioned new eu general data protection laws. But I deeply care about Pimax since their intention was clearly just become more transparent what was shipped in a way we can finally verify. And they should not be punished for that.

I guess it would be safest as protection from such lawsuits to show only let’s say last half of tracking number ? so people can still check their number is there (it will still be unique enough) yet tracking name and address of person where headset was delivered would not be possible anymore via track 17 etc.

Right now I can pretty much find often full name and address where the new headset was delivered and is most probably sitting on shelf. Such level of detail is probably not needed for rest of us ? But could in theory attract maybe burglars and definitely lawyers?

I don’t know. What you guys think. ?
Or maybe I am just paranoid. But people sue each other for all kind of stupid things especially when they smell money. And I don’t want Pimax to get in trouble. I remember that once one women sued a microwave company because she put her wet cat in the microwave to dry it and it kinda … exploded because on the manual it did not state ‘dont put animals in there’ she won millions

Im in agreement here

your tracking number should only ever be emailed to your pimax registered email.

Thank you for your advice. I’ll hide some numbers in the next version. Set Excel to be uneditable. Thank you

And what brings me then the half tracking number? Where can I get the complete number?

in your email. In case someone missed the tracking numba bcause it went into spam he can see at least on the online doc that he should get back to Pimax support to double check.
Actually i found my tracking numba yesterday among other spam mails…

Actually I thought the Pimax list was ok in terms of data protection. The issue rather resides with the shipping companies.

For one i had seen shipping companies and online tracking sites that would only show more “personal” details after typing in the correct recipients postal area code.
