Far Sighted, Myopic and 20/20 ? Whats the plan for the 8K?

@PIMAX-Support

So the Oculus and Vive focus on infinity, and that’s great for 20/20 and Far Sighted, but seems the 4K is built for Myopic and 20/20. So what’s the plan for the 8K ?

  1. Follow the Vive and Rift with focus on infinity?
  2. focal length adjustment to suit a wider range of eyesight
    3 or will it follow the current 4K and cater to Myopic and 202/20 users ?

8K VR focus design follow Oculus and Vive.

That’s a relief to hear. Not sure if its a patent issue or what but if you at least made the lens installation compatible with the major HMD’s manufactures, there is an elegant solution for those near sighted myopic users.

Of course if you become what we all hope, then you’ll be a major HMD. just keep ease of things like insertable prescription lenses in the design.

:smile: I saw that, but initially thought it was listed as an “eye tracking” module, then realized they later showed “VR Frames”. As things ramp up to production and setbacks and financial concerns pile up, some compromises are surely made, I hope for those that need the lenses it stays in the final product.

Does Pimax 8k support focus adjustment separately? Because one of my eye is myopic, another one is presbyopic, any solution for that? Thanks.

Why you dont give Pimax 4k modification with oculus focus design?

Seriously? You’re asking Pimax to accommodate that just for 1 person? No offense, but that’s a lot of trouble. You should try to solve your eyes problem and make life easier for the creators.

I know my case is little bit special, if the HMD does not support presbyopic, but if it can support focus adjustment per eye separately, that will help quite a lot, at least the myopic eye can be set correctly, and another one can be set to normal position, there are some people who have different eyesight for their 2 eyes, most of them are myopic only. I know few HMDs do support separated adjustment, not sure if Pimax 8k also has this feature. @PIMAX-Support

Hi, actually left eye and right eye of most people are slightly different, so wearing correct glasses is recommended for experiencing VR helmets. So far mainstream PC VR helmets adopt physical or software IPD adjustment as a solution to my knowledge. But the former one may be better. Pimax 8K may adopt it, but I’m not sure since the current demo is not a final one.

My understanding, IPD adjustment is to change the distance between two lenses, it does not help to fix focusing issue, which we need to adjust the distance between lense and LCD screen, does 8K have this design? or not confirmed yet?
