does eye movement work in vrchat?
someone mentioned that it should but i can find no info about that and i was not set up for it anyways, so, maybe but not for me?
And you get any noticeable increase of performance?
I do not have an rtx card yet so I do not have any dfr or ffr, so I canât tell you if that is the case. I just had it mounted to see how it fit if it was a bother installed. but I have no software support for anything.
VRChat doesnât support hardware based eye tracking, it is only simulated with animations.
Then is normal that you doesnât see any decrease in the image quality.
We (me, engineers and 7invensun) are currently investigating whats wrong when using the latest Droolon software+FW with final 8KX. We havent seen this issue before. Here is how I would explain the progress upon starting Windows and trying to run it:
- Windows starts
- PiTool starts
- Pimax 8KX is initiated, tracking and OK
- DroolonPi1 IS detected in Device Manager
- PiTool says aSeeVR runtime is NOT running
- Manually Starting aSeeVR through PiTool by clicking âService not ready, Launch aSeeVRâ
- Headset and service instantly reboots (??)
- Headset initializes, then tracking found and OK
- Now, DroolonPi1 IS NOT detected anymore in Device Manager
- aSeeVR runtime not running anymore.
- PiTool shows no message, everything seems OK on PiTool and headset is running
- Conclusion: eye tracking hardware not found - service stopped.
Now, further on:
- I unplug the eye tracking USB, and plug it in again
- Now DroolonPi1 IS detected in Device Manager
- PiTool says âService not ready, Launch aSeeVRâ
- I click to start the service.
- Headset reboots/restarts and initiates again
- Headset now OK and tracking.
- Now DroolonPi1 IS NOT detected in Device Manager again
- aSeeVR runtime quits again
- Eye tracking not accessible and service cannot be started manually either.
Is this something you see as well?
By the way, I have asked for the calibration Unity app and runtime, so I can implement it into Pimax VR Experience. Eventually we can have the UI working with eye tracking interaction.
But first things first, this issue must be solved urgentlyâŚ
I have a 5k+ and am seeing something somewhat different. The headset starts and âlaunch aSeeVRâ like you, but launching it doesnt restart the headset and it remains in my device manager. The problem comes when you try and calibrate the eye tracker nothing happens. The leds dont turn on and the calibration software just freezes.
Please when possible also ensure that it works fine with all foams. So we donât have to choose between no distortions or eye tracking.
Yep, seen this problem as well. Btw did you upgrade the FW successfully so it says DrooolonPi1 in Device Manager and not MobileVR or something?
Yeah it shows up as Droolon Pi1. I think someone in another thread managed to get it to work by removing their extension cord so thats another avenue to explore.
Hi Pimax quorra,
I install the eyetracking in my 5k+ and itâs working. I think accuracy could improve a bit more. Should I install this new firmware or not? What is improving this firmware you are offering?
Thanks.
same boat as zuiquan, with 5k+ Couldnât upgrade firmware as it was already listed as droolon in device manage. opened a ticket so i can get my logs pulled and added to dataset.
âUsing a thin mask is very easy to cause problems with the pupil positionâ
WTF? Seriously? I had to mod all of my headsets (including the Vive) to get the best possible FOV and image quality - if the eye tracker will only work when the eye distance is > certain distance, than it basically kills it for me.
This information, coupled with all the driver issues, reflections and flimsy hardware installation really pisses me off, honestly, and Iâm quite happy with my Pimax headsets (8K-X, two 5K+), so this is coming from a loyal customerâŚ
The fact that we have to cut anything , pisses me off. Itâs so ghetto.
Hi does the Eye Tracking Warranty cover Drool?
Because when it arrive I Drooled On my Droolon.
⌠ba-dum-tsssssssss⌠
#DadJoke
no no no⌠you got the name wrong
itâs DroolOn
and they keep on comingâŚ
