I can’t get past the lack of comfort on this thing (DA LH). I’m sporting the Studioform XP1 and 3D mods to use apple dual knit band. Been spending hours with dremel tool, velcro, tape, cable ties, and stitches to try to get this thing optimized. My friend has been kindly making me the 3D add-ons based on community files to try to find the best combination. Its seriously ridiculous. Between the XP-1 and the apple strap (which is very nice for sure) that’s another 150 USD plus taxes and fees above the headset MSRP. I have never spent so much time trying to get comfort out of a headset, and it’s still not there. (DK1, DK2, valve, valve pro, 5K+, 8KX, BSB 1 and 2). When I finally get the position just right, the stupid splitter cable puts tension on my sim seat the wrong way and moves the headset out of position. It’s the comfort equivalent of having a tiny lens sweet spot. The tiniest imbalance throws the whole experience off. The splitter cable design is an unbelievable fail. Clearly not adequately tested. The cable needs to be changed. Sorry for the rant, but this needs to be known. Even with all the recommended mods sourced at considerable extra cost, this thing will simply not be comfortable for all users. The step up visually from everything I have ever used is completely offset by the total lack of comfort. I am greatly looking forward to PIMAX revised face gasket design, but if they don’t fix this splitter cable, it will still be a compromise. For something so premium, I have never encountered such a DIY experience.
