What are people’s thoughts about using the bottom USB C connector for the lighthouse faceplate
Personally I haven’t attached my hand tracking module yet because I’m still waiting for my replacement optical engine but wouldn’t it be a better choice to use the usb c on the headset itself with a small cable coming out of top of the faceplate so you can stick it in the usb port on the back right side of the headset. because on the bottom it’s not the ideal place for a usb cable because it potentially could be damaged from laying you’re headset down because you will do this lots of times and on the top there is nothing that can damage the cable or anything
Just my thoughts after reading the update on the lighthouse faceplate for the Super
Hey I totally agree Why would it be in the bottom it won’t take long before that plug or the cable gets ruined from placing your pimax down. It simply does not make sense., something is not adding up the face plate should’ve been out already so many people are waiting for it, I believe that they screwed up down the line with the plug a lot of people don’t have their plugs on their headsets. I checked mine and it’s there. I think they’re trying to cover there mistakes by implementing a USB.C if that was the case, why would some headsets have that plug and some others don’t I can’t see how it could be that hard to source that plug through the manufacture, I’m not running that USB.C to the bottom that’s ridiculous They can’t expect people to run that wire out through the bottom to ruin the cosmetics of the pimax and also for sure after some Time it would get ruined from placing it down if anything it would have to be used through the top, but to really solve the problem they should go back to what it was and use the same plug they had before problem solved
I agree or they should at least if there is no other option run a flat cable from the top in front of the upper right usb port so you can stick it right in the back then you have no chance ruining the connector and it still looks like it’s not some prototype device with wires hanging loose like with the Kdmas on the 8kx

Also the so called option with the Pogo Pin, isn´t do able for them yet, I ordered mine, told support that i would need the Pogo Pin and then they didn´t know anything and told me to Talk to Ticket support
But they told me that they still need to figur out how to do it, I will try to figure some out if i can on my own soon, since the plastic where they screw the Original Adpater on, is still in there, but first I need to figur out how it would be the best for us.

If you’d like to install the pogo pin yourself, we can ship it to you later and provide a detailed video guide.
if we can just use the old connector on the Mainboard there for, that would be amazing, since when I ask the Support in a Ticket they told me they can´t do it yet, since i wanted to have mine directly with it, when I ordered mine.
In certain cases—like VRC users who want to use the bottom-C port for the face tracker—they can request to send the headset to us so we can install the pogo pins, or they can request the parts and install them themselves.
The Super faceplate will be different from the Light and the original Crystal, so the front side will need to have the pogo-pin connector installed.
What I meant is do this new connector needs to be soldered in or is it something to plug into an port on the Motherboard of the Crystal Super

It won’t require any soldering — you just need to screw it onto the faceplate.
