i had my parts printed in nylon verry good quality and i glued my parts with Griffon Bond with activator
its glue with a separete can of spray so you can glue and put the parts togheter and then spray the activator on to make it bond verry handy

I have a printer that can print with nylon, but PETG works great for most things like this. You will have a VERY strong part!!!

Ok they printed my parts with a sls printer I don’t exactly know what that means but the parts came out really nice I can’t even see there printed and they are Verry rigid
But can I ask you whatkind of fan did you use mine is 25 mm but I soldered a resistor in between but it’s just not a Verry good fan cause when I move my head it’s suddenly Verry noisy probably cause the is a lot of strain or tension on the rotor part cause it turns fast and movement makes for an extra force so my guess is you need a Verry rigid fan for not having this problem

Well, I finally installed the Cooling Fan mod. Can definitely hear the 25mm fan cause it must be running at full speed since it’s connected via USB cable. I soldered a switch in to turn it on or off.
I snapped one of the pegs while putting the snorkel though the face gasket, hopefully the super glue will hold. If it doesn’t cost to much, I might get a rechargeable 5V battery like @Sidekick1 has done.

Where, preferably Australia, can I buy a couple of 5v batteries and charger than fit the 25mm Fan?

I made a video too: https://youtu.be/6Ziwg04Td9U

The pegs are not that important, you can use two way tape if you like to hold the fan down on top. I made a flat insert when I tried the side mounted fan as an option and used double face tap to hold.

As far as recharge batteries, get two cell lipo (3.7 volts each) and wire to a 5 volt BEC with a switch before the BEC. A couple of 18650 cells wired up last a very long time. You can do it your self or buy something made already…

Use any 5 volt BEC

Some pc fans have a potentiometer wired in to control fan speed manually.

I’ve got some questions. Want to configure it where I can swap the battery out that’s connected to the BEC or I might go the USB power bank with on off switch route like @Djspyker has done.

So it’s Fan > 2 pin Female wire connector > On/Off Switch > BEC > (2 pin Female wire connector > 7V Li-Poly battery

Is this correct?

What is the proper name for the white 2 pin wire connector that plugs to the fan as well as the battery?

Apologies, I’d like to ask some questions about your battery setup Please , @Djspyker
-What type of power bank did you buy if you don’t mind me asking?
-How long does it last on a full charge?
-Does the milli-amps matter because for the fan?
-How did you connect to fan to the USB cable?

Could this be used to regulate the speed of the fan?

My understanding of the BEC connections:

The reason you want the switch between the BEC and the Battery is because the BEC will have a little bit of draw on the battery. So I would connect the switch in between the battery.

I build racing drones (fixed wings and quads) and E-bike batteries so I had some extra 18650 cells laying around. I 3d printed a case and wired them up myself.

Your POT links show they don’t go below 5volts and you do not want to exceed 5 volts so you would want something that would give you say 3 volts to 5 volts I believe. But I do not use a POT - I just run the fan at 5 volts as I need that much airflow to be effective.

I also did not use a USB connector - I just went from the battery pack -> Switch -> BEC -> Fan (LED in between)

The milli-amp draw is how much the Fan will draw at 5 volts which is pretty small. I have run the fan for serval hours before recharge. You do not want the 18650 cells to go below say 3.2 volts per cell (6.4 volts for two cell).

I use the two cell 18650 as the left counter weight also . . .

The white wires must be some type of signal wire (not sure what they do) but I only use the Red and Black wire. Some RC (Drone) BEC use signal wires.

I was after the proper name for the red and black 2 pin connector wire that’s either has a male or female connection? @Sidekick1

I disconnected the USB cable going to the computer and plugged in a powerbank to lighten it , as two cables is heavier. The fan is loud but the speakers overpower the sound while playing.

Changed the battery to a bigger capacity and added a USB speed controller.

Nice! Did you glue the fan to the snorkel? @avengertj

Hi,yes
First i tried double sided tape!
Then i used super glue instead for a more solid grip!
I used double sided tape for the fan control switch on the side and it works well!
:beers:
You should try some Conduit Split & Non Split Black Flexible Cable Tidy Tube Trunking for your wires, cables looks good and keeps them tidy.
You can get on Amazon or Ebay!

Very Nice, does this Fan Mod helps to avoid sweating on lenses? I always have to clean my forehead and lenses in about 30 minutes of gameplay on 8K X. I just ordered few covers below to see if it can fix this sweating issue along with a little more confort and If not then I am definitely going to try this Fan mod.

Yes,this is why i made and added a fan!
It really stopped the steaming up of the lenses and the sweating!
The comfort kit in the photo from VRmust is the same one i have.Thick comfort kit but it does not help with the sweating!
Actually it makes it worse!
OpenMR store are doing a comfort kit with little holes in the leather to help with the sweating.
I have one on order can’t wait to try it!
Pimax headsets need a fan!!!
