Not really a comparison, is it. He is praising the Beyond for 80% of the review to then go on and dismiss the Crystal due to lack of comfort. He doesn‘t really provide much of a review of the Crystal as he skips the majority of features.
Yeah, but lets take a moment to appreciate the “full-circle” moment, this video represents.
Pimax + Tested is how this all began.
Well kind of. RdToVR snd @VRKommando were 2 of the first reviewers. With @benz145 being if not mistaken the first to review the 8k at Ces Jan 2017. 9 months before the ks & Tested over view the v2 8k prototype.
VRkommando made alll kinds of videos on the p4k model and even covered the m1 phone holder. ![]()

Seems like BSB is running into delays.
This is a nice read…
By the way i think they do a amazing job so far…
True, but lets be honest… The Tested video is why most of us became backers.
Hehe yeah that doesn’t make it any easier, LOL. It’s exactly the reason I’m still on the fence. It’s awesome BUUUT it has downsides, especially the lenses and FoV. I’m kind of afraid I’d use it for a few days and then go back to my XTAL.
IIRC, this guy has been saying that this is the headset which is so much better than the others for all three of the Beyond, Crystal and Aero (?), and sort of at the same point in time. Not sure I can put too much weight on his views, as it felt to be clickbait at times…
Thrill isn’t a simmer so I guess small and light takes priority. And he’s into that whole futuristic vibe and feels the need to be a cutting edge YTer.
While I’d love to give BSB its day over the Pico4 £1100 is just too much for what could be a short lived HMD. I’d much rather wait for CES2024 and then weigh up the option on a headset that will last at least 12 months.
BSB could have a great future at a lower price point but Quest3 and Pico 5 are going to make it look expensive especially by the end of 2024.
Obviously the BSB has next gen form factor and weight, it’s micro OLED, displayport…so some definite plusses for me. But i’m not buying a tethered only headset again (unless it was really special in very important areas like the display). I also don’t like using basestations and knuckles.
Yeah it offers a lot of the stuff I want to see in a next gen headset. But I wish they had all this PLUS next gen lenses and a bit more FoV. So yeah, not sure if buying this thing right now makes any sense, I’m sure it will just have you longing for that ‘next headset’ anyway.
The grass is always greener over the hill…and the septic tank ![]()
I was referring to FlightSimGuy.
But yeah, it‘s the eternal battle of trade-offs we are seeing here, with nobody managing to hit the real sweet spot.
quite interesting and detailed first impressions
also everybody is mixing small sweetspot with small edge2edge clarity which are totally different things, if you have small sweetspot it doesnt mean you will get a bad visual experience. It may issue some points like a need to adjust it on your head but in case with bsb it less noticable as hmd sticks to the right spot automatically due to face mold and it has small inertia due to weight and form factor. But fog and grease can make it less sharp quickly due to the small sweetspot, plus if ipd set wrong as in case with video op it will be unforgiving. Imao this one is a very positive review despite bad first impressions and an issues he faced with. Looking to try my BSB when it arrives hope in dec-jan
Once you get use to looking at the BSB as soon as you see an Index or PSVR2 they look rediculous.
Winning over Linus to an extent is a big win or he finally is bored enough to give vr a serious look
