Tried it for the first time for couple hours, and notice bad clarity in the middle when I am looking left/right. The image looks a bit stretched toward middle.
I tried combinations of different IPD/positions/pull in&out, lowest IPD + pulling out did help a bit but still not good enough plus it creates huge gap at the bottom.
I don’t have any problems when I am looking straight forward, I expected distortions at far edges but this makes me want to switch back… It is never an issue for me with OG vive even with different IPD settings.
Anyone have this issue? Maybe IPD at 60 is not low enough for me with the pimax?
If you have glasses try it with them my nephew told me it helped in the pimax but didn’t need them in the vive. He said the same, that it was clearer on the sides. For me its perfect in the middle and fuzzy on the sides.
Yes, I have this issue as well. My IPD is 58mm. My Pimax only goes down do 60.2mm. I can focus on distant objects, but anything close is blurry. This could be resolved if the lenses moved closer together. Yes, moving the headset further from my eyes does help, but FOV is reduced and it creates other issues.
[edit] Taking another look at the blurring in the middle. There’s no position where I can position a single eye along the lenses to get any focus at all in the middle, between the two lenses. It’s the lenses.
No I don’t wear glasses. I just tried it again, and I notice the gap between the lens when I look left with left eye closed, same with the right side. Maybe it is the angled lens causing this problem?
