So the tethered has shipped on the 15th this month in Taiwan and ppl are expecting to receive it early feb.
Maybe we will see some reviews from there soon.

Yeah that answer was pretty LOL …
It´s eather uneducated answer or just read out of the paper. Doubt anyone really qualifying to answer anything remotely tehcnical gave that answer.
Not everything is a scam. These chinese companys just don´t understand how maticulous you should be when it comes to information about products ect for us out of china. We want accurate answers and legit info.
I bet most of the people said pimax is a scam.
I did back out on my 8kX kickstarter just hours before for the simple reason pimax lied about stuff and was strugling to give straight answers.

i quest that depends on how you look at it.
Personally i made the right call based on what i have read and experienced.
And the time to deliver would have been way way too long for me.
But i ques for some backers it was totally worth it.

Arpara used a crowding funding platform in Taiwan similar to kickstarter, they did get to choose to add on the tracker if wish to.
What is interesting is of all the reviews I have scrolled through not one of them complaint about brightness level, few did mention about Color shift at outer edge, a few on average quality material used, and few on the foam comfort, some on the expensiveness of lighthouse system for 6dof. Many about not as good cost per dollar vs quest 2, some on barrel distortion.
Rest are just impressed with picture quality.

If anyone remembers the Pimax 4K had low brightness compared to LCD panel headsets to date. Once you got into the 4K headset you forget about the low brightness

i rebacked the tethered one again after cancelling lol,i want a secondary for my 8kx soo bad because of PP,idgaf about colors or brightness anymore 550$ for 35 ppd is cool if it works in vorpx alone,and they said it does.

Yes thank you, I did see that although it seems quite honestly to be the same sort of generalized chart/response that Pimax would post to address whatever elephant in the room at that time, and of course last minute…before you guessed, it Chinese New Year break. So no time for reviewers to get AIO before end of campaign. I don’t trust their 2 minute fluff videos. An independant review is all that matters. They have gone silent in the last week or so, completely ignoring many messages on the kickstarter page regarding AIO. Who does that remind you of ?

Omg Finally I though I was the only one. I primary want this headset because from my POV its so perfect for Vorpx (which actually works better at smaller FOV due to edge peek) and 3D SBS content and other pancake games in VR Desktop.
This headset could practically be the official HMD of Vorpx its so perfect for it.
The think i notice is that as high as the 8KX and G2 are they still arent really high enough for maximum detail Flat content in VR. I would say that the 8KX feels like the equivalent of watching a 1080p screen in VR. The higher PPD will really bring out the details.
Secondly, I notice that playing typically flat games in VR black levels seem to matter much more. Probably because they were designed for viewing on regular monitors. And no gray-black lcds.
Perfect example of this is RE2 VR mod. You can tell from the title screen that the blacks should be better for maximum enjoyment.
Third, the weight and size of the HMD is very light which would make playing armchair games much better. I’m imagining playing the Cyberpunk Luke ROSS mod, or any other of his mods with this HMD on would be quite laid back.
I don’t need the Arpara to be replace the 8KX or the Quest, it will sit along side them quite nicely.

Yeah, the similarities between Arpara thus far and Pimax are staggering, and might be the reason I pull the plug if anything. I already am stuck on one Roller Coaster I dont need another.

exactly,now idk if it works for luke’s mods,but i want it mainly for mods and vorpx,hopefully it does work,i asked arpara on youtube about vorpx and they replied that they tested vorpx and it works,yeah re2 mod will be nice with pure blacks,even red dead 2 will be great with the darker tone of the game,i think im gonna play even msfs with it i like night flying anyway and on my 8kx i already need to use potato mode and on top of that PP on too because of extreme culling.

I’m excited for u guys who are backing i really hope arpara pull it off, i agree it could be a great hmd for vorpx and games like RE. If i had to put money on it i’d say the tethered IS a good headset, its varjo aero ppd at 1/4 the price.

It’s almost Chinese New Years guys, let the men live.
I’m cooking up a storm in 3 days too got like 5kg of Angus steak 2kg of prawn 5kg of chicken 4 kg of lamb 3kg of pork collar butt and lots other seafood, for the “1st” day of the New Years alone.
No one will be interested with work before and after the New Years.
It’s pretty much equivalent to Xmas.

It’s the most important days of the whole year you reserve your undivided attention for your family/extended family you miss very much.
Not pimax? They did an update to the AIO progress, and so far, far more responsive about their product from what I have seen compared to you know who.
At least they see the feedback and tries to tackle the problem. Instead of pretending there is no problem to begin with like you know who.

I guess that begs the question why even start a kickstarter that was planned ( by design? ) to conflict with CNY.
If they would have told us the current weather in Beijing, and amount of cloud cover, I would have felt just as satisfied with their AIO “update”. They fed us a biscuit wijth no ingredients.
