I play this mod a lot lately. You can pick up weapons from small distance just like with Alyx gloves, use 2 weapons with 2 hands, or 1 weapon with 2 hands for precision. VR settings are are very detailed, you can set almost anything. I changed my vr holsters position a bit, and I like to pick up ammo boxes faster, when just stepping on them.
I admit I was playing before Quake1 vr in other mods, but something was wrong with vr picture, I had to stop after a few levels. This is now another story. I play it fast, and even in my 72Hz (my standard for IL-2 game) it is smooth and nice. Not 1 wrong pixel in my eye 
Large FOV works, but do not bump your resolution too high (hands flicker then, and tracking breaks). My top was 6140 x 2908 (1080Ti).
